Category Manager - Consumables

 

  

We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to drive and develop the consumables category. In this role, you will combine strong skills within strategic procurement, negotiation, and supplier management with a proven ability to drive cost effectiveness initiatives to secure stability, quality, and long‑term value.

What tasks are waiting for you? 

 

  • Develop and execute category strategies with defined targets for supplier development, quality and cost. 
  • Drive vendor and price development within the consumables category. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers aligned with portfolio needs and long‑term goals. 
  • Lead negotiations balancing cost, quality, and supply continuity. 
  • Manage supplier performance through KPIs, reviews, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. 
  • Support development, operational, and improvement projects with procurement expertise. 
  • Secure reliable deliveries through proactive risk monitoring and supplier management. 
  • Ensure full compliance through correct documentation and contract management. 
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Planning, and the Global Strategic Diagnostics Procurement team. 
  • Use data and ERP tools to forecast demand, analyze spend, and identify optimization opportunities. 

  

What we hope you bring?

 

  • Strong experience within procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing, ideally in medical, pharma, or other regulated manufacturing environments; 
  • Understanding of consumables, production materials, or technical components; 
  • Ability to build and execute effective category strategies balancing cost, quality, and supply security; 
  • Strong hands‑on experience with supplier management, negotiations, and long‑term relationships; 
  • Analytical mindset and ability to make data‑driven decisions; 
  • Skills in cross‑functional collaboration; 
  • Proactive, ownership‑driven approach; 
  • Strong English and Polish language skills for daily collaboration. 

  

You will report to Strategic Procurement Manager Anette Hegelund, based in Denmark, and be part of the Global Strategic Diagnostics Procurement team, consisting of nine colleagues across Denmark and Poland.
