Hardware Lead Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated, intelligent, and outgoing Hardware Lead Engineer to join our Hardware Development Team. This role involves working on the design specification, verification, and testing of EPOS products, particularly enterprise and Critical Communications headsets produced in two main categories: USB/cabled and wireless headsets.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Hardware Lead Engineer, you will be deeply involved in defining requirements and specifying the necessary tests and verification processes. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, ensuring products are properly defined and verified. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with hardware requirements, design specifications, and test/verification plans
  • Understanding hardware design, schematics, and electronic components
  • Participating in USB-based product development
  • Engaging with Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) products
  • Contributing to battery-powered product development, including charging, operating range, and talk-time optimization
  • Working with suppliers to provide design requirements and define verification criteria for hardware builds
  • Internal cooperation within R&D - SW, mechanics and Audio Engineering
  • Performing measurements in a hardware lab, such as inrush current, signal integrity (eye diagrams), and battery performance
  • Analyzing measurement data to identify and implement corrective or improvement actions
  • Utilizing data analysis and automation tools such as Python or Excel macros

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background, ideally in electrical engineering, data engineering, or computer engineering
  • Experience collaborating with third-party and external partners in electronics development
  • Previous work with USB standards and hardware product design
  • Experience in battery-driven and wireless product design
  • Understanding of measurement equipment and test setups
  • Personal qualities such as flexibility, open-mindedness, structure, solution orientation, and self-driving
  • Ability to be proactive and act as an icebreaker in communication with internal and external parties
  • Audio knowledge is a plus as HW Team has part of responsibility of integration of audio components in the HW system and verification of PCBA level audio performance.
