Junior Financial Accountant
Position Overview
Job Title: Jr. Financial Accountant
Reports To: Financial Controller
Department: Finance #LI-YZ1
Responsibilities
- Coordinating month end transactions (e.g. prepaid amortization, asset depreciation, accruals, Inter-company charge, Inter-company account reconciliations etc.).
- Preparing and posting journal entries for rent, benefit allocation, bank charges, etc.
- Compiling financial statements and performing financial analyses for assigned business areas.
- Consolidate and report the financial performance in BPC.
- Assisting year end and audit.
- Ensure compliance with Demant Group reporting guidelines and the Company’s financial policies and procedures.
- Communicate with managers and staff of other departments about financial inquiries and solve issues.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Navision database with respect to the modules/areas directly affected/used/mortified by this position.
- Assist accounting team members where needed.
- Perform special projects or tasks when assigned.
- Other duties as required.
- Prepare and file PST &QST.
- Prepare impero controls at end of the month.
Education and Experience
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics and 1+ years accounting working experience, Respo.
- Strong knowledge of accounting/business systems.
- Detail oriented and experience in financial analyses.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proficient spoken and written English.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and be able to maintain good relationships with people inside finance team and cross departments.
- Working toward accounting designation an asset.

Problem Solving/Judgement and Decision Making:
The incumbent works on assignments that are moderate to complex in nature. Generally, follows established processes and procedures, however can exercise decision-making when determining which issues to escalate to the Controller and / or Chief Operating Officer. Must exercise sound judgment and follow established processes and procedures to achieve problem resolution.
Supervision Received:
Primary reporting relationship is typically to the Financial Controller. Assignments are performed under general supervision, receiving guidance on new assignments and projects.
Supervision Exercised:
No supervisory responsibility.
Internal and External Contacts:
Routinely interacts with other team members in the Accounting team, sales team, customer service, IT, operations, and etc.. Contacts are frequent with non-management and management staff with Company’s divisions and their leaders. Routinely interacts with external CRA, Provincial government, and external auditors.
