Position Overview

 

The Financial Analyst will support the Financial Planning & Analysis team, reporting into the Finance Business Partner. This role combines recurring financial reporting responsibilities with analytical and process improvement initiatives, and is ideal for candidates who enjoy building structure, improving reporting processes, and supporting business decision-making through structured and ad-hoc data analysis. The ideal candidate must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced organization, bring a problem-solving approach, be experienced with leading projects, and is a strong communicator. This role supports the completion of the CPA designation through the Experience Verification (EV) pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the monthly reporting package consisting of management reports, visualizations, presentations, and other exhibits as requested for the Wholesale, Medical and Diagnostics business divisions 
  • Prepare, design, and refresh presentations for management with sales, financial and operational metrics  
  • Perform monthly variance and market analyses to deliver insights to Finance, Sales, and Production teams   
  • Reconcile data from the ERP to the data cubes used for reporting and identify discrepancies to leadership 
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting process by assisting with Excel workbooks and upload procedures 
  • Analyze, monitor, and report on customer loans to ensure compliance with contract requirements   
  • Develop and maintain performance tracking, financial models, and analysis reports using PowerBI and/or Excel for sales, revenues, discounts, and expenses  
  • Support the continued evolution and improvement of the reporting, analytics, and finance processes 
  • Assist in improving reporting efficiency through Excel automation, PowerBI enhancements, and emerging AI-enabled tools 
  • Assist accounting team members as needed as it relates to the reporting of financials  
  • Maintain the organization of key financial data in the cloud and design effective folder and file structures 
  • Perform ad hoc analyses using data extracts from ERP system
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager to ensure smooth business operations

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:     

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of working experience Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Enrolment in a professional program, such as CPA or CFA 
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills (Ex. Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, IF Statements, Financial Modelling) 
  • Intermediate PowerBI skills (Ex. Building Dashboards, leveraging data cubes) 
  • Understanding of IFRS and Managerial accounting analysis  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to critically review data to drive business decisions 
  • Experience with AI for Finance, VBA, and automating Excel workbooks is an asset
