Director of National Sales

Position Summary

The National Director of Sales is responsible for leading and executing the national sales strategy for Oticon and Bernafon. This role owns national sales performance across units and revenue and provides leadership to regional sales teams to ensure disciplined execution of strategic priorities.

 

As a key commercial leader, the National Director of Sales partners closely with Marketing, Professional Services, Diagnostics, Strategic Accounts, and Finance to support product launches, manage pricing and discount approvals, coordinate financing and A/R activities, and deliver consistent sales strategy, messaging, and execution nationwide. This role is critical in translating national objectives into regional success while supporting overall P&L performance.

 

This position is based out of North York.

 

National and international travel is required for approximately 75–80% of the role.

Responsibilities

National Sales Leadership & Execution
•    Lead national sales management for Oticon and Bernafon hearing aid brands, driving unit volume, revenue growth, and market performance.
•    Translate national sales strategy into actionable regional execution plans.
•    Provide direct leadership to Regional Sales Managers across East, West, and Quebec.
•    Establish clear performance expectations, objectives, and accountability for all regional sales teams.
•    Build and sustain a high-performance sales culture focused on customer value, accountability, and results.
•    Proactively identifies and undertakes additional tasks as needed to support team and business objectives.

 

Brand & Product Leadership
•    Serve as national sales lead for product launches, including readiness, messaging, and unit forecasting.
•    Lead execution of multi-brand deployment strategies across Oticon and Bernafon.
•    Drive adoption and execution of loyalty programs and promotions
•    Ensure consistent communication and delivery of brand strategy and sales messaging across all regions.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration
•     Act as a key business partner with Marketing to support campaigns, product launches, sales enablement, and events.
•    Partner with Professional Services and Customer Service to support strong customer experience and execution.
•    Coordinate with Diagnostics to support integrated customer solutions.
•    Collaborate with Strategic Accounts to align regional and national priorities.
•    Work closely with Finance to manage loan and financing programs and support accounts receivable (A/R).
•    Support tenders and RFPs in partnership with Strategic Accounts and Finance teams.

 

Financial & Commercial Governance
•    Support P&L objectives through disciplined execution, forecasting accuracy, and cost awareness.
•    Manage and coordinate loan and financing programs aligned with national sales objectives.
•    Approve discounts within defined authority and governance frameworks.
•    Develop top-down unit budgets and manage unit volume and mix projections for production planning.
•    Monitor national and regional performance and implement corrective actions where required.

 

Training, Coaching & Field Enablement
•    Lead national sales training initiatives and continuous capability development.
•    Coach and develop Regional Managers through regular performance reviews and field engagement.
•    Support national sales meetings, trade shows, and key customer events.
•    Participate in Denmark customer trips and other brand engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

•    Proven experience in national or regional sales leadership
•    Proven experience within the hearing aid or healthcare industry is a strong asset.
•    Demonstrated success leading sales teams and driving unit and revenue growth is required.
•    Experience supporting product launches and managing multi-brand portfolios.
Education
•    University degree or college diploma in Sales, Business, or a related field preferred.

•    Strong organizational, analytical, and forecasting capabilities.
•    Ability to influence across functions and regions.
•    High attention to detail and execution discipline.
•    Willingness and ability to travel nationally (75–80%).
