Senior Research DSP Engineer

Location: Snekkersten.

Are you an experienced DSP Engineer ready to broaden your technical scope and help shape the hearing solutions of the future?

At Eriksholm Research Centre, we are looking for a technically strong and practically minded Senior Research DSP Engineer to join our scientific team. You will help mature promising research ideas into robust concepts, demonstrators, and technical solutions that can move closer to adoption by R&D.

About the position

Eriksholm generates scientific insights and explores new technologies with the potential to improve future hearing care. We work closely with scientists, engineers, and Oticon R&D to ensure that promising ideas can be translated into solutions with meaningful impact for people with hearing loss.

In this position, you will bridge scientific exploration and engineering implementation. You will combine strong digital signal processing and acoustics expertise with hands-on experimental work, modelling, and prototype development.

You will collaborate closely with scientists and development specialists, helping teams assess technical feasibility, build convincing demonstrations, and mature early-stage concepts for further development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and evaluating audio and DSP concepts for hearing aids.
  • Translating scientific ideas into working algorithms, prototypes, and demonstrators.
  • Designing acoustic measurements and experimental laboratory setups.
  • Building models and tools for analysing and validating technical concepts.
  • Supporting the maturation and technical transfer of promising research solutions towards R&D.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of research hearing-aid platforms and laboratory capabilities.
  • Providing technical support across scientific projects involving areas such as own-voice processing, acoustic perception, and data-driven signal processing.
  • Taking responsibility for selected laboratory equipment, methods, and workflows.

The ideal candidate

You are curious, analytical, and motivated by solving complex technical problems. You enjoy moving between theory, modelling, implementation, and hands-on laboratory work. You are comfortable working with early-stage ideas where the path forward is not always fully defined.

You take ownership of your work, communicate technical topics clearly, and collaborate well with colleagues from different scientific and engineering disciplines. You also understand the importance of balancing scientific ambition with the practical requirements needed to bring a concept closer to product development.

We expect that you have:

  • A master’s degree in electrical engineering, acoustical engineering, signal processing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Several years of relevant experience in hearing-aid development, audio technology, or another technically related area. Experience from product development, research, technology exploration, or advanced engineering would all provide a strong foundation for this role.
  • Strong knowledge of digital signal processing and acoustics.
  • Experience with acoustic measurements, laboratory setups, modelling, and technical validation.
  • Experience developing and evaluating algorithms in environments such as MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
  • The ability to translate complex technical challenges into structured experiments and practical solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.

Your workplace

The position is based on our site in Snekkersten, where you will work closely with Eriksholm’s multidisciplinary scientific community.

Eriksholm Research Centre is part of Oticon’s R&D organization. We pursue audiological discoveries with the potential to enhance customer and end-user benefits in future hearing care and work to ensure that scientific insights can be applied in solutions supporting people with hearing loss.

We are a multicultural and multidisciplinary team that values scientific integrity, collaboration, mutual respect, and openness. Our informal environment provides room to explore new ideas, challenge assumptions, and take considered technical risks.

Do you want to join Eriksholm Research Centre? Interested in our exciting position? - Deadline is the 22nd of November 2026.

Submit CV and a short, focused motivation in English reflecting the profile above.
