Student assistant

We are building high-quality in-house datasets of audio recordings to support research and development in hearing-aids. We are looking for one or two motivated student assistants to help plan, run, and organize these recording sessions.

What you will be doing

• Setting up and operating recording equipment in studio and room environments.
• Running recording sessions: preparing scripts/prompts, guiding participants, and
monitoring recordings for quality.
• Performing basic quality control: checking levels, spotting clipping/noise/artifacts, and
re-recording when needed.
• (Organizing, labeling, and documenting recordings following our naming and metadata
conventions).

Your background

Students enrolled in a relevant program, such as:

• Acoustics, audio/electrical engineering, or signal processing
• Sound/audio technology, music technology, or media production
• Physics, computer science, or data science with an interest in audio

Skills we are looking for

• Good communication (you'll interact with participants)
• Experience with audio recordings.
• Understanding of digital audio basics (sample rate, bit depth, clipping, ...)
• Familiarity with acoustic concepts (SNR, reverberation,...)

• Nice to have:

• Basic coding skills (python/matlab)
• Structured and detail-oriented mindset

Estimated weekly workload is 20-30 hours.
