Senior Projects and M&A Tax Specialist

Denmark
Smørum

Demant is on a growth journey, and we need you to fill a vacant position as Senior Projects and M&A Tax Specialist, managing all tax aspects of M&A transactions and structuring tax projects from a Danish and international perspective!

As a global tax partner, you will together with Stefan Funch-Jarlbæk, Head of Tax Projects & M&A, be responsible for driving various Danish and international tax projects, creating value both for the company and the millions of people relying on our products and services in their daily lives.

Further, you will be managing M&A processes end-to-end from initial strategic and analytic considerations all the way through execution to implementation.

Demant – a company with a mission

At Demant we help - and it is a big part of our culture. Our purpose is to create life-changing differences through hearing health, and it is our ambition to improve as many lives as possible.

As a listed C25 company, we are one of the leading developers, manufacturers and sellers of hearing aids in the world. As such, we own the full value chain complete from development to selling hearing aids in our own retail stores.

We are looking to grow and will be expanding Demant domestically and abroad. This is where you come in, so you can help the company manage its tax affairs in a responsible and efficient manner.

An opportunity to make your own mark

In your role, you will quickly grow your network in Demant, getting to know a lot of inspiring colleagues throughout our organization. Your closest colleagues are anchored with you in Group Tax as well as local and global finance, but you will also quickly get to experience our trusting culture in Demant through extensive engagement with the broader organization, in particular our M&A teams, funding & treasury and other good colleagues. Further, you will build your network through engagement with external advisors.

The main tasks in your job are to handle the international tax projects, mergers and acquisitions within Demant group alongside Stefan. The tasks are varied but generally include:

  • Managing tax projects e.g. Intellectual Property transfers (IP) and Mergers/Demergers as well as other restructures.
  • Performing tax due diligence on new acquisitions including tax structuring, review of Share Purchase Agreements (SPA), structuring considerations and post-closing integration tax related tasks.
  • Managing tax audits with tax authorities
  • Partnering with the business to support their activities from an international tax perspective.

The job is located at headquarters in Smørum, from where you have the possibility to work from home up to two days per week. For us it is important that our private life works together with our work life. We offer a canteen with varied healthy foods as well as an on-site gym and social clubs. Parking is freely available and otherwise we are close to the S-train station.

The Group Tax team

Your team consists of 11 enthusiastic, highly skilled and experienced colleagues within transfer pricing, corporate income tax and VAT.

Our team culture is energetic, engaging, and built on mutual respect. We collaborate easily and focus on helping each other. We like to eat lunch together in our nice canteen and talk about other things than just work.

Your manager is Stefan Funch-Jarlbæk, Head of Tax Projects & M&A. He is a big fan of situational management and will do his best to give you exactly the management style you need to thrive and develop best, both personally and professionally. Our culture is defined by acknowledgment and trust.

Your background

You hold an MSc. in Business Administration and Commercial Law or in another relevant law/finance degree combined with 7+ years of relevant experience within Danish tax and international tax.

We imagine you come from an in-house tax function or from an advisory or accounting firm.

You are well versed in the laws of tax including the interaction between them and double taxation agreements. You understand and connect with the business to deliver best in class tax advice.

You have tax and analytical skills combined with good interpersonal skills. Professionally, you pay attention to the details, but you also take great pride in delivering your tasks and crossing the finish line.

As a person, you can look at a problem from both a strategic and pragmatic point of view. You pursue the win, but in a humble way, both in your approach to tasks and in your communication with others.

You must be fluent in English, both written and spoken, as this is our company language.

Come join a great team!

Send us your application as soon as possible and no later than June 8th, 2025.
