Welcome to Quality in HIG

The Quality function is placed in the Hearing Instrument Group (HIG) and consists of 200+ colleagues globally. We are responsible for Quality and Regulatory for our biggest brands, like Oticon, Bernafon and Philips.

 

As our new Senior Director, you will head up the Software Quality team, where 15 highly engaged leaders, engineer specialists and senior project managers work together every day, to ensure that our products fulfill the highest quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customers and users expectations.

 

You will be the Software Quality representative in the Quality Leadership team. You will focus on Software Quality at managerial level, increase our outside-in approach to get closer to the user experience and our quality predictability before releases.

 

In the Quality function you will, besides Software Quality, find Quality Assurance, Product Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Global Operations Quality and Product Support. You will work closely with your colleagues in the Quality Leadership team and R&D in coordinating day to day activities and plan long-term strategic initiatives.

Support and develop your team and work on strategic business initiatives

Your role is to manage, support and develop the Software Quality team in the best and most strategic way going forward. Here you will lead and coach your direct reports, facilitate improvement activities and provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations.

 

Meaning that your Major Duties and Responsibilities will be

  • Responsible for developing and implementing Software Quality department strategy aligned with the Quality and HIG (Hearing Instrument Group) strategy.
  • Provide direction and clarity on strategic level within own department and for external stakeholders and contributes to the functional strategy.
  • Accountable for team deliveries according to QMS (Quality Management System), functional strategy and priorities.
  • Accountable for defining and securing quality standards, reliability and performance of software platforms and Hearing aids Solution being developed.
  • Thoroughly identify through quality objectives and software quality key performance indicators (KPI) gaps and risks, secure the right maturity of our solutions at launch and increase predictability before release of the solutions.
  • Introduce best practices, automation, and modern testing methodologies and implement initiatives like shift-left testing to identify defects early.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage software Quality managers and teams, Skill and Talent development.
  • Ensure representation in Lean Portfolio Management and Third-party collaboration.

Your role will interface within Quality as well as outside across the global organization. Your main key stakeholders are Quality, R&D, Global Marketing, IT and HR.

You should expect travelling days to be around 10 days, primarily to your team in Poland, but other travels linked to audit can also occur.
