Lead procurement activities and build category strategies in line with market development and Demant business demand

Direct Strategic Procurement is growing to enable us to generate more savings, focus on our strategic areas, and scale the procurement organization and our capabilities to meet business needs.

We are now looking for a Senior Category Manager to lead our Electronics, PCBs & Batteries category. In this role, you are part of shaping the direction of the category and Demant’s collaboration with our suppliers in the electronics industry.

Some of your tasks will include:

• Drive category strategy and support the strategic direction of the outsourced development and manufacturing scope.
• Engage and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure transparency, compliance and strategic alignment.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including market analysis, supplier identification, RFx processes, evaluation, and award recommendations.
• Lead negotiations and support commercial decision-making.
• Manage contracting and realize value from the supplier engagements.
• Engage and support cost our activities in the Strategic Cost & Improvement Program.
• Support the enhanced focus on procurement method, process, structure and strategy.

You’ll be joining a dynamic and growing team of soon 14 colleagues based in Denmark and Poland. We are a team of Category Managers and Program Managers, with various backgrounds and experiences, and many different nationalities.

Demant Global Procurement is part of Global Operations. This position is based in Smørum just outside Copenhagen from where you must be able to start onsite from day one. Some travel is to be expected in the position.

Experienced Category Manager

We imagine that you:

• Have a commercial or technical university degree. If you have gained your knowledge and experience in a different way, that is equally relevant.
• Have 7-10 years of experience in procurement and category management, and you bring solid understanding of procurement discipline and methodology.

• Enjoy working independently and taking responsibility is second nature to you, however, well-balanced with working to drive results as part of a team.

• Bring analytical thinking and communicate effectively. You are skilled in stakeholder and supplier relationship management.
• Enjoy working on your own and taking responsibility is second nature to you, however, well-balanced with collaborating to deliver results as part of a team.
• Bring experience from the Electronics industry. If you have experience with product development, R&D, or the hearing healthcare industry, it will be an extra benefit for you in this job.
