PCB Packaging Engineer
Electronics Packaging Engineer – PCB & Hardware Integration
Would you like to work with packaging and integration challenges in advanced medical micro-electronics that improve everyday life for people around the world?
At Demant, we develop hearing solutions where packaging, integration, manufacturability, and reliability are essential to product performance. In this role, packaging is about designing and integrating modules at the interface between ICs and PCBs. Our products combine tiny ICs, PCBs, antennas, batteries, and transducers in highly compact form factors.
You will join R&D in Device Hardware in Smørum, as part of a specialist engineering team working across multiple product teams. In this role, you will work closely with electronics developers, PCB designers, quality engineers, production, and external partners to develop and mature highly integrated hardware solutions. Supplier-facing collaboration is a regular part of the role, with support and guidance from experienced colleagues from the start. Occasional travel activity may occur as part of supplier collaboration and technical alignment.
What you will do
· Work on packaging and integration challenges in advanced micro-electronics.
· review and improve interfaces between mechanical constrains, System-in-Package modules, and PCB-/Flex substrates,
· collaborate with suppliers on manufacturability, technical alignment, and development follow-up,
· contribute to design reviews, technical problem-solving, and engineering documentation,
· work closely with colleagues across hardware, test, quality, and production,
· support development from concept and prototyping to production readiness and in-market support,
· depending on your background, contribute to selected PCB-related integration and design activities.
Your profile You likely hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
We expect this role to fit mid-level candidates, but we also welcome early-career applicants with a strong technical foundation and clear motivation to grow.
You likely bring several of the following:
· Experience in electronics packaging, hardware integration, micro-electronics, or related hardware development,
· experience in PCB design / layout, combined with a strong interest in developing further into packaging and hardware integration · Understanding of PCB technologies, stack-ups, and manufacturability constraints,
· interest in working with highly integrated, space-constrained products,
· confidence in collaborating across technical disciplines, internal stakeholders and external suppliers,
· a structured approach to documentation, quality, and follow-through,
· a curious, innovative mindset and motivation to improve technical solutions.
It is a plus if you also have experience with:
· PCB layout,
· flex or flex-rigid technologies,
· high-density electronics,
· regulated or quality-driven development environments.
If the role excites you, but you do not match every point above, we still encourage you to apply.
Why join Demant
At Demant, you will work in a strong in-house engineering environment with close collaboration across hardware, IC, test, quality, and production. You will have access to modern labs and equipment, specialist knowledge, and the chance to work on products that make a real difference for people with hearing loss.
