The job
You will be focused on providing legal advice and building a framework for our many developers and engineers to build compliant products and services. You will therefore get a chance to play an important role in shaping the future of our digital regulation framework.
When carrying out your tasks, you will work with international and highly specialized colleagues across functions, in a collaborative, forward-looking environment. You will also work with external experts on selected matters but more importantly you will obtain a unique and in-depth understanding of Demant’s cutting-edge products and services.
You will encounter a variety of tasks, including:
- Improving our existing Privacy (and Data/AI) by Design framework for product development in collaboration with key stakeholders from relevant functions across the business.
- Supporting stakeholders with advice on various questions regarding tech regulations e.g. advice on proposals for new app functionalities, review of privacy notices for apps and fitting software, general advice to developers on legal restrictions and possibilities.
- Monitoring legal developments within digital regulations and in relation to new technologies to make sure we are ahead of regulatory change impacting our products and services.
- Training colleagues – especially our colleagues in R&D, IT, and our Data Privacy Champions on digital regulations.
Furthermore, you will also be working closely with the rest of the team including our Group Data Protection Officer and our Head of Group Privacy & Compliance.
The job is located at our headquarters in Smørum, from where you have a flexible working environment with possibility to work from home up to two days per week. Your manager will be Head of Group Privacy & Compliance, Sara Munch Andersen.
Become part of Group Privacy & Compliance Team
You will become part of our international Group Privacy & Compliance team consisting of two specialist subgroups (Data Privacy and Legal Compliance). This position is for the privacy/legal tech-leg of the team. All team members are enthusiastic about supporting our business with compliance while we are also trying to have a great time doing so. The tone is informal, and your input will be valued and encouraged.
The team is a part of the larger Demant Group Legal & Compliance. The group in Denmark consists of more than 20 highly skilled and motivated colleagues with a great team spirit. Globally, we have more than 60 team members and common for all is our profound dedication to support our business grow responsibly.

What we are looking for
The work requires good project management skills, a curious mindset as well as a collaborative approach, as most of your work will be about designing processes, reviewing solutions and helping our colleagues succeed with their product development.
We are looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:
- A degree in law (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or equivalent degree if you are educated outside of Denmark).
- Several years of experience from working as in-house legal counsel, at a law firm or consulting firm, or with other legal experience.
- Experience with advising on GDPR in relation to products and/or services. Preferably you also have experience advising on the Data Act and AI Act. In all cases you should be passionate about digital regulation and learning about product innovation.
- A structured approach and good skills at organizing process flows to help translating legal requirements into technical requirements to developers/engineers/IT.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex information in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
- The ability to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of legal advice.
- Good interpersonal skills to have good interactions with and being able to manage stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- English proficiency as this is our corporate language.
For the right candidate, this position can become a Senior position.
