Director, R&D Project Manager, New Development Introduction

Denmark
Smørum

Join Demant's New Development Introduction (NDI) project management group and you will collaborate closely with global and local stakeholders in coordinating solution management and ensuring implementation across our global hearing aid business. As Director of project management in our NDI team, you thrive in a truly diverse and inclusive workplace based on trust and empowerment. You are here to ensure project excellence.

The R&D department covers the whole circle of high-tech engineering know-how in-house. We are expanding our activities and are therefore looking for an additional colleague to take on the role of New Development Introduction (NDI) Project Manager.

You will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the transition of groundbreaking ideas into tangible product solutions across hardware, embedded software, fitting software and apps. In this position you will leverage your technical skills to navigate complex technical landscapes and translate strategy into actionable plans. Your ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project timelines, and foresee potential challenges will be essential as you shepherd innovations from concept to market readiness.

“The NDI has a central leadership position in the Product Program. You will be overlooking the high-level technical parts of a medical product release and furthermore get valuable cross functional insight about the complexity of releasing a Hearing aid to the market”, says Senior Project Director, Dorthe Hofman-Bang.

Improve solution & product perspective.

As NDI, you will represent R&D in a dedicated product program and work closely with the Product Program Manager about solution management. You will be overseeing the R&D deliveries via the SAFe delivery organization, creating overview of timing, dependency, and risk level, as well as ensuring medical compliance of the R&D activities.

As responsible for the R&D activities in a product program, you will, together with the enterprise architect and other relevant SAFe roles, identify the technical stepping-stones needed to mature the hearing solution.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  1. Facilitating solution synchronization by creating overview and transparency of complex internal and external R&D activities as well as dependencies to other areas/functions.
  2. Align the R&D deliveries towards the final product release by interacting with key-SAFe roles such as Epic Owners and Business Owners.
  3. Bridge Product Program and SAFe world.
  4. Facilitate complex decision making as part of the solution management.
  5. Create trust with stakeholders and build relationships externally as well as internally.
  6. Set clear expectations and achieve results by delegating, motivating, and creating team spirit.

In the NDI group, we provide a collaborative working environment where handling changes effectively is vital. Each NDI has their own clear responsibilities, but we support each other in every possible way. We share best practices and experiences across the product releases to be efficient and aligned.

The NDI group thrives with team members who are curious, take initiative and a readiness to confront uncertainty and novel situations with a constructive mindset.

Shape the Future: Make a Difference with Demant.

To effectively perform in the job, you should be able to create trust, communicate clearly and understand the importance of stakeholder management on all levels. Furthermore, you should reach results by delegating, motivating, and creating engagement and team spirit among the team delivering to your release.

Your educational background should include an engineering degree. It will be beneficial if you have experience of leading larger cross-function product development projects (preferably with both HW and SW deliveries). You should be able to work in a development setup, adopting both SAFe development and stage gate program management. Experience working with SAFe is essential for effective project delivery, but most importantly, you should have a solid project management toolbox.
