DSP Tools Engineer

Denmark
Smørum

We’re looking for a DSP Tools Engineer to join R&D Audiological Solutions at Demant. In this role, you’ll help create and improve the internal tools our developers rely on every day—making it easier to build audiological features that truly improve people’s lives.
We also welcome applications from experienced professionals; for the right candidate, a senior-level position may be considered.

Why Demant?

At Demant, we care deeply about the people who use our solutions—and about the people who build them. We develop hearing healthcare technology that makes a real difference, and we do it in an environment shaped by collaboration, curiosity, and respect for each other’s expertise.
From the beginning, you’ll be trusted with meaningful responsibility, supported by your manager and colleagues, and given the space to grow into the role in a way that feels sustainable and motivating.

Your Role

You’ll join a dedicated team in R&D Audiological Solutions that builds and maintains the internal tools and infrastructure behind our development work. You’ll work closely with developers and researchers who depend on these solutions every day, which means your work will be visible, appreciated, and closely connected to the team’s success.
We welcome both early-career candidates and more experienced profiles. If you bring a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and the right mindset, we’re open to shaping the role around your experience and helping you grow from there.
Together with your team, you will build, maintain, and support tools for tasks such as:

  • Frameworks for algorithm development, parameterization and integration
  • Test systems for validating audiological algorithms
  • Build tools for deploying features into products
  • Prototyping tools for hearing aid prescription, fitting and performance simulation
  • Real-time hearing aid performance exploration tools
  • Wrappers and interfaces for external tools

Beyond software development, you’ll also help maintain testing hardware and support colleagues directly making you a key enabler of efficient, high quality engineering work across the team.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings technical depth, curiosity, and a thoughtful, collaborative way of working, someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in making life easier for the people around them.

  • Positive and grounded – You bring a calm, constructive energy, enjoy working with others, and care about contributing to a supportive team environment.
  • Quality-driven – You care about doing things well, take pride in your craft, and want the work you deliver to be genuinely helpful and reliable for others.
  • Pragmatic and action-oriented – You know when to move fast, when to simplify, and how to turn ideas into practical solutions without getting stuck in overengineering.
  • Curious, adaptable, and service-minded – You enjoy learning, are comfortable switching context when needed, and care about building tools and support that genuinely help your colleagues.

Your Qualifications

  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting in both Windows and Linux environments (Powershell, Bash, cmd, WSL etc).
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Experience with practical application of GenAI tools to optimize workflows
  • A strong focus on code refactoring, maintainability, and improving legacy code and existing workflows.
  • A system-level, holistic view of tools and infrastructure, combined with a solid understanding of software development practices and architecture.
  • A structured and diligent approach to writing technical documentation

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink
  • Experience with tool chains related to training neural networks. Queue management (e.g. Slurm), monitoring, maintenance and configuration of gpu equipped machines in a grid.
  • Experience with DSP, audio processing, or acoustics
  • Experience with audio test systems and automation
  • Familiarity with build tools (e.g., SCons, Make)
  • Knowledge of version control and code review tools (e.g., Git, Gerrit, GitLab)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., TeamCity, Kotlin)
  • Experience with data management and analytics tools (e.g. Databricks)

What’s in It for You?

Your work will directly contribute to our mission: helping people with hearing loss experience the sounds of life
We invest in a strong start. You’ll follow a structured onboarding plan, get a thorough introduction to your role and our business, and be paired with a buddy who will help you navigate both the work and the day-to-day culture.
You’ll also enjoy everyday benefits including a healthy canteen with free breakfast, quality coffee and tea, fruit throughout the day, and free access to our fitness center.
We offer five weeks of holiday plus five additional days, generous fully paid parental leave for both mothers and fathers, and a culture that supports continuous learning through development opportunities, training, and courses.
You’ll join a team that values precision, creativity, and mutual support. We help each other, learn from each other, and care about creating an environment where people can do meaningful work and enjoy doing it.
