  • Enable value adding Agile Ways of Working as an Agile Coach (SPC)

Oticon is one of the world's leading hearing aid manufacturers. Our mission is to push the limits of technology to change the lives of people with hearing loss. Delivering innovative and high-quality products is critical to our business.

Demant has, over the last two years, implemented SAFe in Software Solutions and Device Software. Currently, we have launched seven Agile Release Trains, and more will be joining during 2024. We have chosen to work according to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) as we see it as a good starting point to allow an organization of more than 1500 people to work together to innovate, develop, and deliver one hearing solution to our customers and users. Within the framework, our articulated strategy is to continuously experiment and adapt how we work. To enable that, we need you as our new Agile Coach (SAFe Practice Consultant).

About the Role:

Are you passionate about driving teams and individuals towards dedication and performance through coaching, mentoring, teaching, and facilitation? Join a team of Agile Coaches at Oticon, supporting product and leadership teams in Device Software.

What’s in it for you:

This is a unique opportunity to use your experience with agile methods and grow personally by applying it on a larger scale than ever before. You will play a key role in bringing together 1500 people and help them work towards one goal through a single product. You are given the opportunity to be part of an agile development community, that includes all parts of the organisation, such as marketing, IT, product, and portfolio management, to deliver one unified product. You will enjoy full support from top management to drive and implement the planned change. At Demant we use SAFe as a common framework and starting point, with a strong focus on values and principles rather than the framework itself.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Grow and sustain thriving agile leadership, agile release trains, and product teams.
  • Support our continuing move into agile ways of working and help teams master outcome-driven quarterly goals and continuous exploration in problem and solution space.
  • Teach the importance of transparency, feedback, and reflections, and how to act on these.

  • Continuously experiment with better ways of working to set the Device Software organization up for success.
  • Challenge the status quo respectfully and ask the difficult, sometimes uncomfortable questions.
  • Build and nurture knowledge-sharing communities to foster continuous learning and growth across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Guide product teams, various leadership teams, and individuals.
  • Act as a dedicated and trustworthy guide, mentor, and role model.
  • Facilitate workshops with larger groups in physical, hybrid, and virtual contexts.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing forums and more formal competence development setups.
  • Collaborate with an enabler team of 3 coaches supporting 4 agile release trains and approximately 35 product teams.
  • Create and maintain communities for knowledge sharing, ensuring the dissemination of best practices and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

  • A passion for searching for new knowledge and inspiration on how to do things differently and better.
  • Eagerness for teaching and sharing knowledge.
  • Experience and desire for the “people side of change and leadership.”
  • Experience in designing, facilitating, and driving workshops.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a lot of kindness and empathy.
  • Confidence in coaching and challenging upwards, even to difficult stakeholders.
  • Experience from several organizational changes into Agile Ways of Working at a larger scale.
  • Hands-on experience within all Agile Coaching stances and an honest assessment of areas for improvement.
  • Ability to know when to step in and lead, but also when to step back and let the team determine the best course of action.
  • Patience and calm to follow the pace of maturity development in the organization.
  • Solid English language skills, both verbally and in writing.
