Microsoft Core Infrastructure Operations Engineer
About the Role:
The MCI Operations Engineer manages daily IT operations for Demant China Infrastructure, working with Global IT and Shanghai staff. The role centers on maintaining and optimizing Microsoft 365 services through proactive monitoring, incident handling, standard changes, documentation, and ongoing improvements following Global Team procedures. The position also supports cross-domain processes by performing routine tasks in areas like Windows Server, databases, datacenter operations, and backups, in collaboration with specialist teams to ensure service quality.
Key Accountabilities:
- Operate, maintain, and support Microsoft 365 services including productivity, collaboration, security, and identity-related components.
- Monitor operational health, capacity, and compliance of core services.
- Perform standard changes within the following areas:
- Windows server
- Citrix Virtual apps & Desktops
- VMWare vSphere 8.0
- BackUp (Commvault)
- Cisco Network & Firewall
- Ensures all system updates, security patching, backup, scheduled tasks, etc., according to corporate standards
- Coordinate with Central IT for advanced changes and perform these under supervision from central IT
- Cooperate with local team in China on operational tasks
- Report back to central IT on a regular basis on the condition of the environment
- Act on incidents and service requests related to China IT
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conscientiously ensuring regular maintenance and operational tasks are performed in coordination with local China team
- Resolve incoming requests in collaboration with local IT team
- Proactively report any irregularities observed in the environment

Qualifications:
- Basic education within IT infrastructure, including basic certifications in relevant technologies (essential)
- Structured work approach (essential)

- Flexible mindset irt. work schedule (essential)
- Chinese and English speaking and writing (essential)
- Good communications skills written and oral (desired)
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of identity, access, security policies, and configuration management within M365.
- Al round experience with operational tasks within the following areas
- Windows server
- Chinese cloud vendors (eg. Alibaba)
- Citrix Virtual apps & Desktops
- VMWare vSphere 8.0
- BackUp (Commvault)
- Cisco Network & Firewall
- Client (MS InTune)
- Working proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is required to support communication and standard operational processes related to the China IT environment.
- Ability to travel to China as required.
Knowledge:
ITIL v4 process knowledge (foundation)
Experience:
- 3-5 years’ operational experience within the relevant areas in a multinational organisation
- Experience/employment for China Mainland based company (preferred not required)
- Experience with working in an international organisation
