About the Role:

Data Intelligence is an established, multicultural team with members in multiple countries, and we work alongside data scientists, analysts, and managers from almost every functional domain in the retail business.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Data, Design, Product, and Executive teams to understand and support their data infrastructure needs, while resolving data-related technical issues.
  • Build robust data infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources, leveraging APIs, Azure Dynamics 365, Azure Fabric, Google Cloud, and on-premises SQL technologies.
  • Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements, including optimizing data infrastructure for greater scalability, data delivery, and automating manual processes.
  • Manage and model large, complex datasets, applying best practices in data modelling to ensure optimal performance and usability.
  • Develop and maintain LookML and PowerBI models (measures, dimensions, parameters, dashboards) to enable self-service analytics and reporting to empower business users.
  • Ensure code quality and consistency through peer reviews, and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, models, and processes to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure proactive communication during development phases, keeping stakeholders updated on progress, processes, and expected outcomes.
  • Administer user access in alignment with established access governance policies, ensuring compliance and appropriate permission levels.
  • Due to the global nature of the work, you should expect to have between 10-15 days of annual travel.

We are looking for someone who is skilled in critical thinking, communication, and able to work with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels. The ability to problem-solve with a self-organized approach but also work within a team that spans multiple cultures is also extremely important to us. To qualify for this role:

  • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in IT or a related field.
  • Several years of practical experience with cloud platforms and data modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation as well as GIT and Terraform for maintaining version control.
  • Competency in either LookML or DAX for semantic model development
  • Bonus familiarity with technologies such as SQLX, YAML, and/or HTML.
  • Proven results in designing scalable data solutions, conducting POCs, and resolving issues through root cause analysis.
  • A clear and effective communicator, capable of delivering timely updates to stakeholders and simplifying complex technical concepts.
  • Collaborative team player, actively contributing during development, reviews, and incident resolution.
  • Familiarity working within data governance and management frameworks to ensure compliance with relevant legislation (GDPR, HIPAA, APA etc.)
  • Proficiency in English, which is our corporate language, is essential.
