Senior Process Engineer for Microelectronics

At our production site in Ballerup we are cultivating functionality and performance by introducing up to date technologies, providing data driven qualitative analysis and results, as well as supporting ongoing manufacturing processes, new product introduction and innovative development projects.

State of the art 

Demant Enterprise A/S in Ballerup is our Centre of Excellence regarding automated production using the latest surface mount technologies (SMT). New assemblies are frequently released, e.g., for Oticon’s latest hearing aids and consequently new production equipment and technologies are necessary.

Your primary tasks include: 

 

  • Support R&D in design of next generations of microelectronic assemblies and hearing aids. 
  • Development of production processes to support Volume Production, R&D and NPI builds to improve quality, capacity, capability, and reduce costs 
  • Evaluate and qualify new production equipment and materials. 
  • Create, communicate, and document statistical reports and illustrative presentations of experimental results for current production processes and products in development. 
  • Active technology, process and methods scouting.

 

As a team with an Agile set up, you will be part of a cross-functional and diverse group of Process engineers, working on an array of projects that involve newer designs and technologies, as well as providing essential support to cooperating teams and departments, to reach common, progressive results.  

 

These teams include but are not restricted to Project Managers, Operations Technicians, Quality, and R&D, as well as external clients and partners. Therefore, strong collaboration and communication skills are highly valuable. 

 

You can expect up to 15 days of travel per year.

Your background 

You have a relevant education, e.g. engineering, with a focus on materials, microelectronics, manufacturing or chemistry

 

Additionally, you possess at least five years of professional experience in a manufacturing setting, during which you have consistently applied structured problem-solving techniques. 

 

 

You have experience with (but not restricted to): 

 

  • SMD and microelectronics production.  
  • Production failure analysis, investigation, documentation, and optimisation using DoE methods.  
  • Optical Analysis methods and equipment (AOI, SPI etc.). 
  • 2D PCB design principles and engineering drawings, stencil preparation and evaluation. (E.g.: CAM350, Creo etc.) 
  • Processes and materials evaluation, characterisation, and application. 
  • Metrology methods and Statistical analysis using tools like R, Python, or similar.

  • Have good collaborating skills and experience in working in collaborative environment and forming good working relations with white- and blue-collar staff alike. Adaptiveness to dynamic situations is very much appreciated. 
  • Can prioritize between different tasks to reach your own and the team's common goals. 
  • Employ a methodical and detail-oriented approach in your work processes, prioritizing quality and substantiating your conclusions with reliable data, while remaining open to discovering innovative techniques and tools. 
  • Are fluent in English.
