Head of Internal Communications & Engagement

Location: Maidstone Support Centre (with occasional travel)

Salary: 60-65k

Contract: Permanent, 4–5 days per week

Hidden Hearing is seeking a dynamic Head of Internal Communications & Engagement to shape the future of how we connect, inspire, and engage our people. Reporting to the Marketing Director, you’ll partner with senior leaders to design and deliver a strategic programme that informs colleagues, strengthens culture, and drives pride and belonging across the organisation.

This is more than a communications role it’s about influencing culture, leading change, and bringing our vision and values to life during an exciting period of transformation and growth.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and deliver a strategic internal communications and engagement plan.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team on communication and engagement.
  • Create compelling content across newsletters, intranet, social channels, and events.
  • Manage communication platforms and ensure consistent, integrated messaging.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen culture, recognition, and employee connection.
  • Drive change communications for transformation projects.
  • Plan and deliver major internal events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and external partners to ensure high-quality outputs.

About You

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Senior-level experience in internal communications and employee engagement.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to tone and clarity.
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic comms plans and manage change communications.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with digital communication platforms and analytics.

Desirable:

  • Hands-on content production (video, creative campaigns).
  • Experience delivering internal events and conferences.
  • Knowledge of employee engagement frameworks and culture-building initiatives.
  • Background in healthcare or multi-site environments.
