Manager, People & Culture (18 Month Contract)
SCOPE
The Manager, People and Culture is responsible for spearheading enhancements to the people-oriented programs, ensuring alignment with HearingLife Values and supporting our ambition of becoming a Top Employer. This includes the development of our HR foundation (policies, processes, onboarding), fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace (DE&I), driving employee recognition programs and instilling the Company values in every team member.

HearingLife Canada, and National Affiliated Partners, is the largest provider of hearing healthcare service in Canada. Working in unison with the National Campaign for Better Hearing's awareness campaign (campaignforbetterhearing.org), our core philosophy is to of providing life-changing hearing care while increasing awareness of the effects of hearing loss and the benefits of hearing devices.

SUCCESS CRITERIA
- Improve the new hire experience and ensure an understanding of HearingLife history, culture, values, benefits and policies.
- Assess HR policies and processes, and continually build on this foundation.
- Develop a multi-year strategy to invest in our people and achieve Top Employer certification.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
- Partner with HR functional areas to build a certification plan for employer excellence programs.
- Foster a positive workplace culture, promote company values and ensure a healthy work environment.
- Lead the ongoing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program to promote diversity and ensure an inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued.
- Develop, implement and maintain employee recognition initiatives with the goal of improving employee engagement.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and programs, including employee orientation, in line with legal compliance and best practices.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Marketing teams to align on and execute a strategy to attract top talent.
- Support peers on the HR Leadership Team with projects and coverage.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Post secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- 7-10 years' experience in HR that includes exposure to various HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding and training, compensation and benefits, and performance management.
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
- Experience in leading HR projects and developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the organizational goals.
- Involvement in creating or revising HR policies, ensuring they comply with legal standards, and meet organizational needs.
- Developing and leading diversity and inclusion programs within the workplace.
