Human Resources Partner

SCOPE:

The Human Resources Partner (HR Partner) serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning people initiatives with business priorities while supporting the effective execution of HR strategies across the employee lifecycle. The HR Partner fosters positive employee relations, champions employee engagement, and supports leaders in performance development, talent management, organizational change, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Guided by a commitment to compliance, consistency, and data-driven insights, they provide practical people solutions that support business objectives while ensuring alignment with company policies, employment legislation, and global HR frameworks. Working collaboratively with leaders, and HR Core Deliveries teams, the HR Partner helps create a positive employee experience, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and advance our purpose of helping more people hear better.

  • Leaders demonstrate confidence in HR guidance and support.
  • Talent and performance processes are effectively executed and support workforce capability.
  • Engagement action plans are implemented and employee experience is strengthened.
  • Fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture. This can be measured through employee satisfaction surveys, feedback mechanisms, and improvements in overall employee morale 
  • HR processes are delivered accurately, consistently, and in alignment with legislative and organizational requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including supporting the company’s employee engagement survey by positively influencing participation and developing survey results action plans with business leaders 
  • Act as a change agent to support critical business initiatives and special projects as required; support leaders in all elements of effective change management  
  • Exercise professional judgment and decision-making authority in the delivery of HR support, working autonomously while knowing when to escalate complex or high-risk matters.
  • Establish strong partnerships with business leaders to drive our purpose forward. 
  • Foster a positive and high-energy workplace culture that resonates with our values. 
  • Effectively manage employee relations issues with understanding and persistence. 
  • Leverage data and analytics to make strategic decisions in support of our action plans. 
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives that resonate with our purpose and our values. 
  • Champion a high-energy work environment that motivates and inspires. 
  • Act as a change agent for critical initiatives aligned with our mission of helping more people hear better. 

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Applies critical thinking and sound judgment to assess people-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions that balance business needs, employee experience, and compliance requirements.
  • Exercises independent decision-making within established policies and guidelines, escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of human resources practices across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, talent management, engagement, organizational change, and diversity and inclusion.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management 
  • 5 years of progressive HR Generalist or Business Partner experience. 
  • Human Resources Professional Association member in good standing; HR professional designation preferred (Certified Human Resources Professional/ Leader). 
  • Retail or Healthcare experience an asset. 
  • Comfortable adapting to new software and systems.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and/ or SAP SuccessFactors is an asset. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Requires strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills to support leaders and employees in a variety of people-related matters.
  • Occasional travel may be required, but hey, road trips are a great opportunity to meet our team members!
