Student Assistant - Sustainable Procurement

Job summary

We are seeking a committed and motivated student assistant to join our Global Procurement team to assist us reach our innovative decarbonization targets and build governance around Sustainable Procurement. You will work closely with our procurement team to support the implementation of sustainable practices in our supply chain. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in sustainable procurement and contribute to our organization's commitments.

 

Responsibilities

 

1. Research and Analysis:

  • Support data collection processes to build the foundation of our Supplier Engagement Programme
  • Evaluate supplier and industry average information on decarbonization practices, supply chain risks and due diligence  

2. Data Management:

  •    Assist in the collection and maintenance of data related to suppliers' carbon emissions
  •    Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor sustainable procurement efforts

3. Supplier Engagement:

  •    Collaborate with procurement and supply chain team members to engage with with suppliers and freight forwarders on sustainability topics
  •    Assist in the evaluation of supplier sustainability performance through surveys, and other assessment tools.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  •    Maintain accurate records, including documentation of supplier agreements and compliance.
  •    Support the preparation of regular reports on sustainable procurement metrics and achievements.

5. Communication and Training:

  •    Assist in the development of communication materials to raise awareness of sustainable procurement practices internally and externally.
  •    Contribute to the organization of training sessions or workshops for staff on sustainable procurement principles.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled as a student in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Sustainability, ESG, Supply Chain Management).
  • Genuine interest in sustainability, decarbonization and supply risks
  • Advanced research and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint with basic knowledge in Power Bi
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and individually when needed

 

Duration and Hours:

This is a part-time position, with flexible hours to accommodate the student's academic schedule. The expected duration is 6 months to 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
