Senior SAFe System Architect
Are you a purpose-driven technology leader with a passion for system architecture, electro-acoustics, and agile product development? Do you thrive at the intersection of technology strategy, architecture, and leadership?
At Demant, we are looking for a Senior SAFe System Architect to join our “Device Hardware”-organization and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of hearing aid technology and accessories for hearing aids.
In Demant we develop our products through the Scaled Agile Framework, SAFe, where development is carried out in smaller organizational entities called Agile Release Trains – or ARTs. As SAFe System Architect you will be part of the ART leadership team, guiding the development activities of around 70 engineers. This is a unique opportunity to combine deep architectural foundation and electro-acoustic know-how with tactical influence and organizational leadership.
The role reports to the Senior Director, Styles & Accessories, Device Hardware.
Welcome to Device-Hardware
Based at our headquarters in Smørum, you will join one of Device Hardware's ARTs, responsible for developing hearing aids, chargers, and related accessories that improves hearing health for millions of users worldwide.
As the SAFe System Architect, you will be responsible for defining and driving the architectural vision for the Agile Release Train (ART) while ensuring alignment between business strategy, technology roadmaps, and product development execution. In the ART leadership team you will work closely together with your SAFe System Architects colleagues within other disciplines as well as Product Management, and the RTEs. Furthermore, you will align the architecture in close collaboration with Domain Architects and Enterprise Architects. Through collaboration with the Agile teams, Product Owners and Scrum Master, you ensure that the architectural visions are investigated and implemented as intended.
So, this is not a traditional architect role. As a member of the ART Leadership Team, you will provide both technical and organizational leadership, influencing priorities, guiding strategic decisions, and helping teams deliver robust, scalable, and innovative hearing solutions.
Architecture Leadership with electro-acoustic emphasis
Your primary responsibility will be to establish and evolve the architectural direction for the ART while ensuring that technology decisions support long-term business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Architecture and Electro-acoustic Leadership
- Own and communicate the architectural vision for the ART together with your peer SAFe System Architects in the ART
- Drive system architecture with a special focus on the electro-acoustic area, and occasionally across other disciplines (mechanics and electronics)
- Define architectural enablers and technical roadmaps supporting future products and platforms.
- Ensure alignment between ART architecture, Device Hardware strategy, and enterprise architecture
SAFe Leadership
- Serve as SAFe System Architect for the ART and a core member of the ART Leadership Team.
- Support PI Planning, architectural runway development, solution exploration, and prioritization of enablers.
- Guide Agile teams in balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical sustainability.
- Coach teams and stakeholders on architecture, systems thinking, and SAFe principles.
Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Lead technical analysis and fact-based decision-making.
- Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and opportunities for innovation.
- Evaluate technical risks, trade-offs, and investment decisions.
- Define technology strategies that enable future generations of hearing aid and accessories
Strategic Leader with Deep Technical Insight
The ideal candidate combines strong leadership capabilities with deep electro-acoustic knowledge and architecture experience from complex hardware product development environments.
We imagine that you:
- Hold a degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Have experience as an Architect, Lead Engineer, or similar senior technical leadership role.
- Have experience within the electro-acoustic domain
- Possess broad technical knowledge across hardware disciplines and understand how systems are developed end-to-end.
- Have experience in Agile product development and preferably SAFe organizations.
- Can translate business strategy into technical direction and architectural decisions.
- Thrive when guiding technical specialists, influencing senior stakeholders, and building alignment across complex organizations.
- Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience from hearing healthcare or medical devices development will be considered an advantage.
What's in it for you?
This is a unique opportunity to combine architecture, strategy and leadership in one of the industry's most advanced hardware development organizations.
You will:
- Shape the future technical direction of hearing aids, chargers, and accessories.
- Influence key business and technology decisions at a strategic level.
- Work alongside some of the most talented engineers and architects in the industry.
- Play a central role in the continued evolution of agile hardware development at Demant.
- Join a company where innovation directly improves the lives of millions of people worldwide.
