Senior Manager - Electronics Shared Service, Device Hardware R&D

Denmark
Smørum

Lead a team of world-class electronics-specialists building the technology inside every Demant hearing aid.

Do you combine a solid engineering background with a genuine talent for developing people? Are you motivated to lead highly skilled specialists in a demanding, high-tech R&D environment? If so, this could be your next step as a leader.

About Device Hardware R&D

Oticon, part of the Demant group, is a leading medical-technology company where more than 1,000 engineers develop high-tech solutions that improve life for people with hearing loss worldwide.

In Device HW, we develop all Demant hearing aids — including chargers and accessories — in a SAFe-based agile setup where most engineers work in agile teams. Our Electronics Shared Service teams work across the organization, providing deep specialist expertise in PCB, packaging, rechargeable batteries, production testing, and related electronics competencies.

Your role

You will lead around 15 highly skilled engineers organized into smaller electronics competence areas that form the technology backbone of Device HW. Your mission is to help us grow on two fronts — through motivated, capable people and through state-of-the-art technology.

Alongside four line-management colleagues, you’ll shape day-to-day operations, drive continued development of the organization, and contribute to the group’s strategic direction.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of around 15 highly skilled development engineers.
  • Define and promote technology and competence development within your area.
  • Drive the technology roadmap and contribute to long-term development across Device HW.
  • Support transformation and continuous improvement together with peers, agile teams, and leadership colleagues.
  • Contribute actively to the line-management leadership team and to the group’s strategic development.

What you bring

  • A M.Sc. or B.Sc. in electronics engineering.
  • Extensive design experience in medical devices, consumer electronics, or similar.
  • Several years of experience developing people — you know how to set direction, build trust, and inspire others to follow because they believe in the purpose, not because they have to.
  • A track record of guiding people and teams through change and transformation.
  • Experience from an agile organization is an advantage — but what matters most is that you’re motivated by helping people succeed in agile teams.

As a leader, you master the fine art of developing highly specialized, dedicated employees. You are well organized, communicate with clarity, and build productive relationships naturally — not only within the HW group, but across the whole organization. We see line management as servant leadership: removing impediments, enabling collaboration, and helping the development organization run smoothly.

What we offer

You’ll have real influence over both your own team and the direction of the wider group, with a varied role and room to grow as a people leader. We value your professionalism, experience, and dedication — and we trust you with a high degree of freedom to shape how you and your teamwork. Your perspectives and ideas are cornerstones of our continued growth.
