DSP Engineer – Hearing Science and Perceptual Audio
At Demant, Digital Signal Processing sits at the heart of how people experience the world through sound. As a Senior DSP Engineer, you'll help develop audiological solutions that enable millions of people with hearing loss to communicate, connect, and engage more naturally with the world around them.
Working within a cross-functional SAFe Scrum team, you'll collaborate with audiologists, software engineers, and system specialists to turn innovative DSP concepts into real-world hearing aid solutions.
What You'll Do
You will contribute across the DSP development lifecycle, including:
- Developing and optimizing DSP algorithms and audiological features for hearing instruments
- Exploring new concepts through modelling, simulation, and performance evaluation
- Collaborating with embedded software engineers to bring algorithms into real-time products
- Supporting verification, testing, and validation activities to ensure high-quality user experiences
- Contributing to system design, requirements, and technical investigations across hearing aid solutions
- Working closely with stakeholders across R&D to deliver innovative, user-focused products
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced DSP engineer who combines technical depth with curiosity, collaboration, and a passion for improving people's lives through technology.
You bring:
- MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Audiology Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong experience with DSP and real-time audio processing
- Knowledge of hearing science, psychoacoustics, or auditory modelling
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python
- The ability to work effectively across disciplines and communicate complex concepts clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with embedded DSP (C/C++)
- Experience with machine learning for perceptual modelling
- Experience with blind and music source separation
- Understanding of perceptual audio rendering and mixing
- Acoustic measurements or clinical/subjective testing
- Patent generation or state-of-the-art analysis
