Scrum Master / Team Coach - Device HW, R&D
Do you thrive in guiding and motivating teams through change?
Are you curious about hardware development and eager to grow your adaptive leadership to support cross-disciplinary, international teams that build the next generation of hearing aid platforms?
About the department
You will be part of the skilled Product Owner and Scrum Masters team in DHW Styles & Engine in Demant A/S and part of the wider agile communities across Demant. As a team we grow product Ownership and Scrum Mastering to improve value delivery, improve flow while ensuring healthy team foundation and dynamics.
The Role
You will be Scrum Master for agile team(s) that are part of an Agile Release Train (ART) working within the SAFe framework. Together, these teams deliver complex, high-impact hardware for Demant’s next-generation hearing aids.
Your proven mastery in agile leadership and transformation in development teams —spanning facilitation, mentoring, coaching, and teaching—will empower the team to achieve outcomes that matter and inspire agile teams in the dynamic world of hardware development – while fostering psychological safety, team well-being, and sustainable workload.
As a Scrum Master your close collaboration with the product owner and your facilitation ensures that every delivery aligns with business strategy through business mastery, upholds the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship through technical mastery, and drives sustainable change and continuous improvement through transformation mastery.
Experience in hardware development is an advantage but not required. Your curiosity and learning mindset will enable you to bridge business, technical, and transformation perspectives.
The Key focus areas in the position are:
- Value Delivery: Driving value delivery while enabling continuous improvements
- Adaptive- and agile leadership: Acting as trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach to unlock potential, balancing team well‑being and workload and fostering change mindset
- Lean‑Agile Practice: Using data and hypotheses to guide decisions and applying SAFe principles and system thinking
Your main responsibilities
As Scrum Master, your responsibility will be to enable efficient team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. You can look forward to the following primary tasks:
- Drive value delivery while enabling continuous improvements across team processes.
- Apply adaptive and agile leadership, acting as trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach to unlock team potential and foster a healthy change mindset
- Use data and hypothesis-driven insights to guide decisions and support the team in applying SAFe principles and systems thinking
- Ensure cross-team alignment by collaborating with other Scrum Masters to identify dependencies and support ART deliveries
- Support quality and compliance, enabling the team to balance innovation with the documentation and standards required for medical devices
Could we be a match?
We are looking for a servant leader who can coach, guide, and facilitate highly skilled experts—helping them reach their potential and deliver impactful solutions.
You may have a background in technical product development or be eager to learn more about hardware platforms. You are motivated by Lean-Agile leadership and by cultivating healthy, productive teams. You balance promoting improvement with maintaining focus on critical deliveries, and you are likely to have several years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
On the personal side, you are a strong communicator—open, approachable, and curious about people, technology, and development processes.
Future opportunities
Given the close collaboration with key decision makers in the Group, the role carries high visibility and is a great opportunity to build a future career. This could involve further developing your expertise in SAFe, advancing into a SAFe leadership role, or transitioning into a people management position at some point.
