Principle Hardware Domain Architect for Outsourced Development of Hearing Aid accessories

Denmark
Smørum

Responsibilities

Are you motivated by hardware architecture and adept at overseeing architectural projects, negotiating interface connections, assisting external development, and making sure our architecture enables new business and technology opportunities? Then this might be the perfect job for you!

You will navigate in the interface between Demant’s SAFe setup and the ways of working with our external partners, where you will bridge our strategy into architecture. You will work closely with your colleagues in Device Hardware’s ARTs (Agile Release Trains) and our outsourced development partners. Along with the Enterprise Architect team and SAFe System Architects, you are accountable for hardware architecture and specify the requirements towards our development partners.

Architect the future of hearing technology
You will join the DHW Domain architect group, which is a part of the Device Hardware Architecture and Technology team. Our overall goal is to ensure that technology and architectural decisions support our outsourced development business strategy for accessories and chargers for hearing aids. This is done through close collaboration with all parts of R&D, but also through interaction with stakeholders in Portfolio, Management, and Operations.

As a Domain Architect, you will be responsible for conducting technical analyses and defining the key architectural enablers required to explore new market opportunities and adopt emerging technologies. You will collaborate closely with our outsourced development and outsourced manufacturing partners and fellow architects specializing in other hardware domains and software, as well as a wide range of stakeholders.

You should have keen interest in architecting medical technological accessories for outsourced development and thrive in a role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on architectural work.” says Michael Erhardt and continues, “if you do that, this is just the right position for you”

You will be responsible for conducting technical analysis and for identifying and designing the technical stepping-stones needed when developing accessories and chargers as part of Demant’s Hearing Solutions. Your primary tasks will be:

  • Technical analyses – ensuring sound and fact-based decisions taking f. x. implementation cost aspects into account.
  • Technical contact with external suppliers and outsourced development partners.
  • Facilitating the creation of system design contents - including the electrical and mechanical interface agreements matching the system architecture.
  • Keeping yourself updated on the market

Architect with broad technical insight

You have a degree in engineering or computer science – and in your work life you have picked up a broad technical knowledge within hardware product development, that enables you to work across multiple disciplines in mechanics, electronics, charging and wireless standards.

You may already have some years of experience working as an architect. It will also be a benefit if you have experience with external development and outsourcing and basic knowledge of project management.

You also have leadership experience, that could be from project management or as a leader in a SAFe framework. “Where you have your leadership skills from is not important. What is more important is that you know how to lead tech people, guide management, show them direction, find solutions and inspire” says Michael Erhardt

You are required to travel in this position to visit suppliers and development partners up to 15 days a year.
