Head of EPM Systems - Global Finance

Denmark
Smørum

If you are looking for a role where you can combine global transformation leadership with people leadership and where the ability to work effectively across functions, countries, and organizational levels is required, this is the job for you.

You will have overall responsibility for our EPM platforms, team, and roadmap, with the primary objective of replacing SAP BPC with a modern solution for Financial Planning, Forecasting, and Consolidation.

Our wider transformation includes the implementation of a new ERP platform and advanced Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. Together, these initiatives will create a more integrated Finance technology landscape, with standardized processes, greater automation, and trusted data to support better decision-making across the Group.

Welcome to Global Finance

You will join Group EPM Systems, part of Group Finance, and report to the Senior Director, Group Financial Systems. You will be a member of the Group Financial Systems leadership team and lead a team of approximately five EPM specialists. Taking on the role, you will be based at the Demant HQ in Smørum.

Our global Finance organization consists of more than 600 professionals working across Financial Reporting & Compliance, Business Finance, Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and Financial Systems. In addition, our Shared Service Center in Poland.

Strong stakeholder management will be critical to your success

You will be responsible for ensuring that global solutions work effectively across local Finance organizations. This requires a pragmatic approach to balancing global standards with legitimate local requirements and the ability to build commitment to common ways of working.

Succeeding in the role, you will need to create alignment across different perspectives, priorities, and levels of the organization. This means building trusted relationships, communicating clearly, and making complex topics understandable to both Finance and technology stakeholders.

Driving the Future of EPM and Global Finance

You will lead the evolution of our EPM capabilities and establish the foundation for how the Group manages planning, forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and management reporting in the future.

A central part of the role will be the replacement of SAP BPC. You will also shape how EPM interacts with the wider Finance technology landscape. This includes defining the appropriate responsibilities between EPM and BI and establishing a consistent financial data model across ERP, EPM, and BI.

A further important objective is to make it easier for local Finance departments to become part of Global Finance, using standardized systems and processes that can be efficiently deployed across the organization.

Joining us, you can look forward to the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the EPM transformation and roadmap, including the selection, design, implementation, deployment, and stabilization of the new platform replacing SAP BPC.
  • Lead and develop the EPM team of approximately five specialists and manage relationships with implementation partners and technology vendors.
  • Own the EPM operating model, including system governance, integrations, releases, support, security, controls, auditability, and continuous improvement.
  • Standardize and improve EPM processes for Financial Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Scenario Modelling, and Consolidation, increasing automation and reducing manual work and spreadsheet dependency.
  • Define and govern the financial data model across ERP, EPM, and BI, covering dimensions, hierarchies, master data, mappings, controls, reconciliations, and financial definitions.
  • Shape the future reporting architecture, defining the division between EPM and BI and leading the transition of relevant management reporting, including capacity-cost reporting, to BI.
  • Drive adoption across the Group, ensuring effective communication, training, change management, and implementation of new solutions and ways of working.

The role involves approximately 20–30 travel days per year, primarily for global collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.

What You Bring

You hold a bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field, and you bring significant experience within EPM, financial systems, Finance transformation, or performance management.

You have proven experience leading a complex EPM implementation or major Finance systems transformation, preferably in an international or global organization.

You have a good understanding of Financial Consolidation, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Management Reporting, combined with practical experience using a modern EPM platform such as OneStream, Oracle Cloud EPM, CCH Tagetik, Anaplan, SAP, or a comparable solution.

Furthermore, you have a solid understanding of financial data models, master data, system integrations, BI, data quality, and governance, and you know how these components need to work together to support an effective Finance function.
