Electronics Engineer - Test, System, and Hardware Integration

Denmark
Smørum

Join us in developing reliable, maintainable test systems that raise the quality of our hearing-health devices.

You’ll work at the intersection of innovative engineering and medical technology, helping deliver products used by millions. We design everything from early prototypes to full-scale production, and you’ll have access to state-of-the-art labs, tools, and in-house production and test facilities.

You’ll collaborate closely with electronics developers and cross-functional specialists across the organization, and your ideas will matter. Your daily work place will be the Demant HQ in Smørum close to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Develop and maintain Test Systems and Procedures
We are a shared-service engineering team delivering test solutions across Demant’s hearing-instrument development. In this role, you will work closely with electronics developers in one of our agile product teams, collaborating daily with colleagues from multiple development groups across functional areas.

Your professional base and long-term growth remain within the shared service team, while your day-to-day work happens directly with the product teams you support.

Our devices integrate ultra-compact ICs (down to 200 µm pitch), multilayer PCBs, Bluetooth and NFMI antennas, acoustical and magnetic transducers, and rechargeable power systems, all within extremely tight physical constraints. Designing and maintaining test systems for our products is challenging and essential for the end results.

In this role, you will develop and maintain test systems and procedures throughout the full product life cycle, from early prototypes to production, ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and end-of-life support. You will ensure that each product meets demanding performance and reliability requirements, working closely with electronics developers, chipset specialists, software teams, and our production sites.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and optimize R&D test systems and procedures across the full product life cycle.
  • Collaborate with electronics developers from multiple teams, as well as internal Chipset teams, software teams, and production sites.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems integrating hardware, software, and embedded electronics.
  • Define test strategies and document procedures in line with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test approaches and share knowledge across the organization.
  • Perform data analysis on test results to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for product and process improvements, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.

Your profile
You have a degree in electronics or practical technician experience is welcome, with a genuine interest in test system development and continuous improvement of test approaches. You are curious, persistent, and pragmatic, and you enjoy both creating new test methods and maintaining existing ones. You thrive on solving complex problems across digital and analog electronics, system integration, and embedded software. Finally, you collaborate effectively across teams, communicate clearly, and are confident challenging ideas constructively to drive solutions forward. Experience in agile environments, including Scrum or SAFe, is a plus.

To sum up

  • Experience in electronics development—digital, analog, or both.
  • Understanding system design and integration.
  • Documentation skills for your own work and system designs.
  • Experience with mass production electronics and production test is a plus.
  • Basic experience with LabView or other test systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex HW/SW systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, preferably in medical devices.
  • Having the motivation for working in an agile environment, preferably with SAFe.
