DevOps Engineer
DevOps Engineer
Are you interested in software development, automation, and the engineering systems behind advanced embedded products? Would you like to improve the daily work of hundreds of developers while contributing to products that help millions of people with hearing loss?
Then you may have found your next opportunity at Demant.
Join Team Continuous in R&D
Team Continuous is a software development team within Device Software R&D. We create the CI/CD platform, developer tooling, and specialized infrastructure used to build, test, and release software for Demant’s hearing care products.
We work directly with engineers developing firmware, embedded software, algorithms, and applications. Our solutions connect source code, build systems, test environments, hardware, and release processes into dependable development workflows.
The team develops software and automation across a broad technical landscape. We also manage Windows and Linux virtual machines across multiple locations, along with some of the specialized physical infrastructure used for building and testing our products. This infrastructure is a core part of our development platform, rather than traditional corporate IT.
We share ownership across the team. Everyone contributes to both the quality of today’s platform and the decisions about how it should evolve.
Build today’s platform and shape what comes next
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and improve the systems that make our development organization productive and our deliveries reliable.
You will:
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for firmware, embedded software, algorithms, and applications
- Build software and automation for pipeline orchestration, artifact handling, and developer self-service
- Create reproducible Windows and Linux build environments using infrastructure as code
- Develop integrations between TeamCity, Gerrit, GitLab, Artifactory, VMware, and other systems
- Investigate complex and intermittent problems across code, pipelines, build agents, operating systems, networks, USB devices, and physical test environments using evidence-based troubleshooting.
- Improve the reliability, observability, maintainability, and security of our development platform
- Work with development teams to identify friction and turn recurring problems into sustainable solutions
- Help shape our technical direction through experimentation, proof of concepts, and incremental modernization
An important part of our work is enabling other R&D teams. We create common capabilities and sensible standards while giving developers the tools to handle more of their workflows independently.
The role offers considerable technical variety. One task may involve improving a Kotlin-based pipeline definition, another debugging a Python service, and the next investigating a build agent or hardware-connected test environment.
About you
You have a background in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience with some years of professional experience. You enjoy working across code, operating systems, infrastructure, and hardware-connected environments.
You also care about whether our solutions work well from the developers’ perspective. You use monitoring, metrics, dashboards, and statistics to understand reliability and performance and to verify that improvements have the intended effect.
You take ownership, balance immediate needs with long-term improvements, and communicate well in English across teams and locations.
You do not need to know our entire technology stack. We value strong software engineering fundamentals, technical curiosity, and sound judgement. Experience with some of the following would be an advantage:
- TeamCity, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or another CI/CD platform
- Pipeline configuration as code, particularly TeamCity Kotlin DSL
- Ansible, Packer, VMware, or other infrastructure automation
- Linux and Windows development environments
- Docker and containerized services
- Git, Gerrit, GitLab, Artifactory, REST APIs, and event-driven integrations
We prefer a candidate eager to learn across the stack than someone who matches every item on the list.
Why join us
At Demant, we value curiosity, collaboration, and technical excellence. You will work in an international, high-trust environment with strong opportunities for growth, while contributing to solutions that improve people’s everyday lives.
