Associate Category Manager - Direct Strategic Procurement

We are looking for a person to continue and expand the Direct Procurement journey within our company where you will be part of the Direct Strategic Procurement team, located at the Danish HQ in Smørum. The team currently consists of 10 team members (2 Project Managers and 8 Category Managers, all working from our office in Denmark and Poland with reference to the Director of Direct Strategic Procurement. Take part in developing Direct Procurement categories
Joining us, you will be developing the categories for electronics, mechanics, transducers and marketing materials. However, category responsibility may change over time. We will give you the opportunity to be an important part of shaping strategies related to further developing and optimizing our categories and global supply chain - dealing with stakeholders throughout our R&D, Operations and New Product Introduction (NPI) functions.  In the role, you will also be engaging with global vendors and pay them occasional visits. Annually, you must therefore expect 30-40 days of travelling with most of our strategic suppliers being in Asia, Americas and across continental Europe.

Your primary tasks will be to:

• Assist in setting Demant’s supplier base strategic direction and after some time oversee its deployment, across complex and performance critical component areas of our industry leading Hearing Aid and Accessory products
• Execute global tenders, contract management and negotiation
• Take part in management and implementation of supplier-based innovation and developments to meet Demant’s ever increasing product performance goals
• Change Management and implementation throughout the Demant organisation, regarding supply chain innovation
• Category and supply chain optimization, in support of delivering the Demant group vision, strategy, and targets
• Support the development of Category Strategies within your category area.

Do you enjoy engaging and sparring with stakeholders?
As a person, you hopefully enjoy applying a detail-oriented approach while also maintaining an overview of your stakeholder-landscape. Stakeholder management is essential in this position, and we are looking for a person who enjoys engaging and sparring with various stakeholders across the business.

You want to develop your competencies within technical components and business acumen and with one foot solidly planted in the traditional supply-chain disciplines. If you choose to apply for this position, you probably have a master’s degree within engineering, e.g., supply chain, production, and manufacturing. You might already have some years of experience and are fluent in both spoken and written English language.
