Applied AI scientist

Denmark
Smørum

Can you turn rapidly evolving AI technology into solutions that create real value for the people using them?

In Hearing Care, we are expanding how applied AI supports our commercial and operational teams. As our Applied AI Scientist, you will combine practical AI development, rapid experimentation and close stakeholder collaboration to turn business needs into scalable, production-ready solutions.

Make applied AI useful, responsible and scalable

At Demant, our purpose is to improve people’s lives through hearing health. In this role, you will contribute by helping our Hearing Care business apply AI where it can make a meaningful difference - improving how we work across sales, marketing and clinic operations while ensuring solutions are practical, trusted and built for real-world use.

Take AI from business need to production

You will join Commercial Excellence in a practical, business-facing role. Working closely with business users, subject matter experts and IT stakeholders, you will explore challenges and opportunities and translate them into AI use cases, solution concepts and experiments with clear success criteria and business outcomes.

You will design and build applied AI solutions and continuously improve their quality through prompt and context engineering, retrieval design, chunking strategies and RAG. You will also establish evaluation approaches using golden datasets, automated quality checks, regression testing and human review to understand how solutions perform and where they need to improve.

A key part of the role is balancing quality, speed, cost and risk. You will select appropriate models and solution approaches, implement guardrails and controls for safe and compliant AI use, and work with MLOps, Data Engineers and Architects to move solutions from prototype and pilot into scalable production. You will also provide technical input when external AI vendors are evaluated.

This is an opportunity to help shape how applied AI is used across Hearing Care. As our AI maturity develops, you will have room to help shape standards, ways of working and solution patterns, while building practical AI capabilities that can be adopted and scaled across the organisation.

Bring practical AI experience and business curiosity

You enjoy working where technology meets real business problems and can move pragmatically from an ambiguous need to a working solution. To do well in the role, we expect that you:

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Development or a similar relevant field.
  • Have practical experience designing and building GenAI applications, AI assistants, RAG-based solutions, workflow automation or similar applied AI products.
  • Can translate ambiguous business problems into AI use cases, solution concepts, technical requirements and measurable business outcomes.
  • Have practical experience with prompt and context engineering, retrieval strategies, chunking, embeddings, vector search and RAG optimisation.
  • Are familiar with modern AI development and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, Instructor or similar tools.
  • Know how to evaluate AI solution quality using approaches such as golden datasets, LLM-as-a-judge, human review loops and automated quality checks.
  • Can write clean, maintainable code aligned with good software-engineering practices and are familiar with cloud AI platforms such as Google Vertex AI, Azure AI, Mosaic AI or similar.
  • Have basic familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD, monitoring and deployment of AI solutions.
  • Can explain AI concepts, solution choices and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and are fluent in English, as it is our company language.

Want to join us?

Please send your CV and application as soon as possible and no later than August 31th, 2026. We will conduct 1st and 2nd interview during September. If you would like to know more about the position, you may contact, Manager, Sophia Evtimova on email at sovm@demant.com.
