Category Manager - Electro-mechanics

We are looking for a commercially driven and technically minded Category Manager to take ownership of a category portfolio with a primary focus on electro-mechanical components and assemblies. In this role, you will combine strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimisation with close collaboration across R&D, Operations, and QA/RA.

You will join a leading supplier of premium diagnostic audiological equipment used every day in hearing clinics and hospitals around the world.
As part of our Global Diagnostics Procurement organization, you will take ownership of a category portfolio with a primary focus on electro-mechanical components and assemblies used across our product portfolio e.g., cables, connectors, sensors, switches and motors.
You will play a key role in ensuring strong supplier partnerships, high-quality standards, competitive cost levels, and resilient supply chains within a regulated medical device environment.
The position is based at our Interacoustics headquarters in Middelfart and supports several brands across Demant Diagnostics.
A specialist role with technical and global impact
You will define, develop, and execute category strategies, optimise the supplier portfolio, drive cost effectiveness initiatives, and ensure the right agreements and supplier relationships are in place. Collaboration across functions and regions will be essential to secure alignment and progress within your categories.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement category strategies with clear objectives for supplier development, quality, and cost
- Initiate and drive continuous cost effectiveness initiatives
- Negotiate agreements and build strong, long-term supplier relationships that support both quality and business goals
- Drive supplier segmentation, SRM, consolidation, and performance management
- Ensure contract management and compliance in collaboration with QA/RA and other functions
- Contribute to process improvements, including master data harmonisation and lifecycle/EOL management
- Work closely with stakeholders across R&D, Operations and QA/RA, as well as Procurement Project Leads and fellow Category Managers

Some travel should be expected.
Get to know your new team
You will report to Strategic Procurement Manager, Anette Hegelund, and join the Global Diagnostics Procurement team consisting of dedicated professionals across Denmark and Poland.
We combine strong collaboration, commercial focus, and a pragmatic approach to procurement. This is a specialist role without direct reports, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the Diagnostics organization.
Your background
You bring strong business acumen, a strategic mindset, and thrive in a role where influence is built through collaboration.
You hold a relevant degree within engineering, supply chain, procurement, business, or a related discipline, combined with experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and/or category management within manufacturing or regulated environments.
We imagine that you:
- Are a strong negotiator, cost-driven, and result-oriented with a can-do attitude
- Have experience building and executing category strategies
- Have international experience and the ability to create alignment across functions, cultures, and locations
- Possess technical understanding and curiosity and quickly grasp products, processes, and requirements
- Have experience sourcing electro-mechanical, electronic, mechanical, or other technical components
- Are analytical, structured, and comfortable navigating complex supply chains
- Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills and can create buy-in across the organization
- Understand regulatory requirements and documentation. Experience with ISO 13485, MDR, or MDSAP is considered an advantage
Experience within medical devices is an advantage. Experience from other highly regulated or technically advanced industries is also highly relevant.
