This role will be responsible for supporting the Financial Accounting Manager in managing the financial accounting and controlling for all Wholesale, Diagnostic and Production operations Australia and New Zealand.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to drive end-to-end process improvement and strengthen interdepartmental communication.
  • Design and implement standardised, best-practice financial accounting processes, controls, templates, and reports.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency of data across all financial systems and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Scope, design, and deliver ad hoc projects and process improvements as opportunities arise.
  • Manage accounting master data, including chart of accounts, cost centres, posting group setup, and other financial data structures.
  • Deliver accurate inventory reporting and support effective inventory management.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, covering acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
  • Support ad hoc reporting and analysis, including financial modelling, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Prepare and own General Ledger account reconciliations.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting into the group's financial consolidation system.
  • Prepare finance reports and schedules to support audit, tax submissions, transfer pricing reporting and statutory reporting.

 

* Occasional interstate travel to the Demant Production and Logistics Facility in Brisbane.

  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply data manipulation skills and to leverage IT tools to automate and streamline processes
  • Technical knowledge of accounting and practical application of accounting standards.
  • ERP system experience is essential, Microsoft NAV advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including retrieving external data, summarising, filtering, pivoting, and presenting. PowerQuery/PowerPivot experience beneficial.
  • Significant demonstrated experience working in an accounting role; minimum 5 years like for like experience.
  • Experience working for a subsidiary of a large multinational company.
  • Experience in the Hearing Healthcare industry advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Business or Commerce majoring in accounting, or similar.
  • Progress towards a Professional Accounting Qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent).
