Salesforce Release Manager

About the Role:

We are looking for a bright addition to our Salesforce Team: A Salesforce Release Manager. Our already-developed Salesforce modules are implemented in 23 countries within Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud. We are looking for a Salesforce Release Manager to ensure quality and uniformity in deployments across 5 Orgs. You will join our IT Salesforce department with 8 colleagues.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for the release process. We have at least 7 releases per year, and you will, amongst other things, make sure that the code meets the quality requirements. You will oversee and coordinate the process of deploying changes, updates, and new features within the Salesforce environment and ensure a smooth and controlled transition of changes from development and testing environments into production. It’s a global roll out and due to business requirements, we have a multi-org. set up. You will be working together with Salesforce application consultants, Salesforce architects, test lead, project manager, product owners, change & training manager, implementation partner etc.

Your Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage the end-to-end release process for Salesforce applications across a multi-org environment, utilizing tools such as Copado, Gearset, and Salesforce DevOps Centre,
  • Collaborate with development, quality assurance and business to create release plans, and set release schedules for multiple orgs,
  • Oversee the deployment of Salesforce configurations, customizations, and third-party integrations,
  • Monitor and communicate release progress, identifying and addressing any delays, bottlenecks, or issues that may arise
  • Managing risks and resolving challenges that impact release scope, quality, and schedules
  • Communicating crucial release plans and changes.
  • Managing relationships working on interrelated processes

To Qualify for the Role:

You probably have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or maybe you have gained your knowledge through years of experience. You have done this before. You have 3+ years of experience as a Release Manager, with a focus on Salesforce environments and know your way around Copado, Gearset, Salesforce DevOps Centre.

 

Furthermore, you...

  • have a strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, including declarative and programmatic capabilities,
  • have project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple releases,
  • have a detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • have proven experience in establishing and optimizing release management processes, with a focus on automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
  • preferably Salesforce Administrator certified
  • preferably Salesforce APP Builder certified
  • familiar with development: Apex, Asynchronous Apex, SOQL, Triggers, SFDX Production Deployment, Custom Settings & Custom Metadata, Unit Tests
  • familiar with Automation: Flow, Approval Process, Validation Rules
  • have Lightning Experience: Lightning App Builder, LWC
  • proficient with Data Management: Security Model, Data Sharing Settings, Reports, Dashboards

You bring a structured approach, and you find it easy to collaborate with colleagues at all levels. We value good communication skills, solution orientation and an innovative mindset. 

Nice to Have, But Not Required:

  • Experience with various CI/CD tools beyond Salesforce-specific options, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools relevant to Salesforce environments.
  • Experience implementing automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Provar) within a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Knowledge of branching strategies and Git workflows in the context of Salesforce development and release management.
  • Experience with Leapwork test automation.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • REST API Integrations
