Compliance Officer (Australia)

About the Role:

This role supports best practice and regulatory requirements by monitoring compliance with clinical documentation standards. You will identify and escalate risks, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain the integrity of document control processes and the document library.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct regular clinical documentation audits in line with agreed templates and schedules
  • Record audit findings, raise corrective actions, track completion, and follow up on overdue items
  • Communicate audit outcomes clearly to clinicians and operations leaders, including escalation of moderate and high-risk issuesIdentify trends and recurring non-compliance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and targeted education
  • Liaise with Clinical Quality for compliance advice and support internal audit activities
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for Clinical Quality initiatives
  • Maintain document control, including:
    • Managing the controlled document library and version control
    • Ensuring document accuracy, approvals, review dates, and archiving
    • Coordinating periodic document reviews and supporting document control audits
  • Provide RiskMan system administration and support, including:
    • User and site maintenance (in collaboration with Property)
    • Licensing coordination with IT
    • Managing the RiskMan inbox and service tickets

Key Stakeholder Relationships:

  • Clinical Quality: clinical compliance advice, standards, and continuous improvement
  • Operations & Leadership: communication of audit outcomes, corrective actions, and escalation
  • Clinicians & Clinic Coordinators: audit engagement, feedback, and action completion
  • HR Business Partner: escalation and support for higher-risk or performance-related matters
  • Document Owners & Approvers: document review, approvals, and change control
  • Property & IT: RiskMan site data and licensing support

To Qualify for the Role:

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • High attention to detail and strong record-keeping capability
  • Confident using audit tools, checklists, and dashboards
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Professional personal presentation

 

Experience:

  • Experience conducting audits or documentation reviews and managing corrective actions
  • Exposure to working with clinical, operational, and support stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
