Team Leader – Inbound Materials & Logistics (Warehouse & Incoming Inspection)
Join Demant in Ballerup
At Demant, more than 22,000 employees worldwide develop and deliver innovative hearing healthcare solutions. Our purpose is straightforward and clear: to help people hear more clearly and live more fully.
In Ballerup, we are responsible for the introduction and manufacturing of microelectronics for hearing aids. Our site consists of 125 colleagues.
For this newly created position we are looking for a hands-on Team Leader to take responsibility for our Inbound Materials & Logistics area, bringing together Warehouse and Incoming Inspection into one team.
About the Role
You will be stepping into a small, highly engaged team with long experience and deep ownership of their work. We work harmoniously together and support each other when needed.
This is not a “fix what’s broken” situation - there is a lot that works well today. But we are in a period of significant change:
- Two teams are being merged.
- We are planning a physical move internally.
- We are introducing new digital systems.
- We are working to align processes with our sister site in Poland that has a more complex setup than we do.
This means the role is not about maintaining a finished setup. It’s about helping shape it while keeping daily operations running. You should be comfortable working in a practical environment where not everything is fully defined yet, and where improvements are made step by step.
This is a working Team Leader role meaning while leading the team you will also be directly involved in the practical part of the daily work.
As part of your job, you will travel a couple of times per year to visit the site in Poland.
The position is in Ballerup. It is important for the position that you can start onsite, full-time, from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Daily Operations
- Lead and support a small cross-functional team (warehouse and incoming inspection) in day-to-day work.
- Plan and prioritize daily activities to ensure smooth flow of inbound materials and goods.
- Participate in operational tasks as needed (receiving, inspection, storage, shipping).
- Act as the first point of contact for questions, issues, and coordination.
- Ensure safe working practices and adherence to quality standards.
Coordination & Structure
- Create clear and practical ways of working across warehouse and incoming inspection.
- Run simple daily/weekly coordination routines to keep work aligned and transparent.
- Work closely with procurement, production, and quality to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory and transaction data in ERP/Warehouse Managing System (WMS) systems.
Cross-Site Collaboration
- Maintain close, practical communication with our sister site in Poland.
- Help establish reliable and efficient flow of materials and goods between sites.
- Contribute to aligning processes while keeping local operations working effectively.
Change & Improvement (Key Focus Area)
- Support the physical relocation of inbound materials and logistics activities.
- Help integrate warehouse and incoming inspection into one team with shared ways of working.
- Take part in implementing new digital tools and systems.
- Identify and drive practical improvements in processes and flow of materials.
- Balance day-to-day operational stability with ongoing changes and improvements.
Current Focus Areas (First 6-12 Months)
- Supporting relocation and setup of inbound materials & logistics in a new physical environment internally.
- Merging the two teams into one cohesive unit.
- Implementing and adapting to new digital systems e.g. ASM material Management system.
- Establishing clear, simple, and aligned processes across sites.
- Enhancing collaboration with our sister site in Poland.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience and knowledge
- 2-5 years of experience as Manager or Team Leader within warehouse, logistics or inbound materials.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems. We work in QAD, with MODI trace and ASM material Management system in the pipeline.
- Experience working through changes e.g. new systems, reorganizations, process updates, etc.
- Comfortable working both hands-on and with planning/coordination.
- Understanding of quality/inspection processes.
- Fluent in English written and oral.
Personal Approach
- A practical and grounded leadership style - you are not above the work.
- Able to work with and gain trust from a highly experienced team.
- Listens and builds on existing knowledge rather than replacing it.
- Comfortable in a role where not everything is fully defined from the start.
- Working structured without overcomplicating things.
- Patient and steady - understanding that changes take time and need to happen alongside daily operations.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to shape a newly formed Inbound Materials & Logistics function.
- A highly engaged and experienced team environment.
- A role with direct input on how work is done day to day.
- Close collaboration across sites and functions.
