Senior Process Engineer for Microelectronics – Demant Hearing Aid

Job Brief

We are looking for a team member, who will be involved with developing and implementing new processes for microelectronic production used within the hearing aid industry. A successful candidate will be expected to contribute towards improving functionality and performance by introducing up to date technologies, provide data driven qualitative analysis and results, as well as support ongoing manufacturing processes, new product introduction and innovative development projects.

 

The Role

You will join a team of four Process Engineers collaborating in an Agile setup.

 

The team’s and your primary tasks are:

  • Development of new processes and designs for new generations of microelectronic assemblies.
  • Optimisation of existing production processes to improve quality, capacity, capability, and reduce costs.
  • Evaluate and qualify new production equipment and materials.
  • Create and communicate statistical reports and illustrative presentations of experimental results for current production processes and products in development.
  • Challenge existing design rules and determine new – in collaboration with product development team.
  • Active technology, process and methods scouting.

Your Experience

You have a relevant education, e.g. engineering, with a focus on materials, microelectronics, manufacturing, or chemistry.

 

Furthermore, you have minimum 5 years of professional experience in working in a manufacturing environment, where you have regularly utilised analytic and systematic problem solving.

 

It will be considered an advantage if you have experience with:

  • SMD and microelectronics production optimisation using 6-Sigma and DoE methods.
  • Optical Analysis methods and equipment (AOI, SPI etc).
  • Processes and materials evaluation, characterisation, and application.
  • Metrology methods and Statistical analysis using tools like R, Python, or similar.
  • 2D and 3D CAD/CAM, PCB design principles and engineering drawings e.g. CAM350, Creo, OnShape.
  • Manufacturing of medical equipment.

 

About You

  • You have good collaboration skills and experience in working in an active team environment and forming good working relations with white- and blue-collar staff alike. Adaptiveness to dynamic situations is very much appreciated.
  • You can prioritise between different tasks to reach your own and the team’s common goals.
  • You have an analytic and structured approach to your work methods - with attention to details, prioritise quality over quantity, provide findings backed by authentic data, and a drive to identify new methods and technologies.
  • Fluency in English is required, but it is an advantage if you speak Danish.

 

You can start onsite Ballerup from 1st of October 2026.

Our Work Environment

Demant Enterprise A/S in Ballerup is our Centre of Excellence regarding automated production using the latest surface mount technologies (SMT). New assemblies are frequently released, e.g., for Oticon’s latest hearing aids and consequently new production equipment and technologies are necessary.

 

You will communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with different people, mainly internal colleagues from other teams, but also from other Demant locations and external partners. Occasional travelling is part of the job.

 

You will work in a smaller department with high flexibility – and at the same time be a part of a large organization.

 

The team uses advance and modern methods to deliver production technologies for the benefit of product projects, production capability, and, ultimately, the hearing-impaired customer.
