Senior Translational Research Manager


Are you experienced in Translation Research and eager to make a real difference in people’s lives? Do you want to be part of a fast-growing, innovative company developing life-changing implantable hearing solutions? At Oticon Medical, we’re on a mission to improve the quality of life for people with severe hearing loss. We’re now looking for a Senior Translational Research Manager to join our Gothenburg site in Askim, Sweden.

In this position your core responsibility will be to drive the research and technology development for coming generation of bone-conduction implant systems with particular focus on implant system and surgery.

 

 

What you will do:

 

  • Drive the technology evaluation, maturation and development to meet mid-to-long term business needs in alignment with roadmap and vision
  • Act as key contributor to drive the technology roadmap as well as implant and surgical sub-roadmaps
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships and collaborations with key opinion leaders within ENT
  • Execute make or buy assessments and evaluations
  • Secure and attract research collaborations and funding opportunities for strategic priorities and collaborations
  • Research representative of Oticon Medical both external and internal
  • Promote Oticon Medical as a scientific partner externally           

 

Your profile:

You are comfortable managing complex tasks, meeting deadlines, and performing effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a high level of integrity, strong communication skills, and the confidence to work with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
A proactive approach is essential to succeed in this role, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to take ownership and deliver results independently.

Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in mechanical, biomechanical, biomedical engineering or similar
  • 10 years’ experience in leading technology and research projects within implantable medical devices and experience with active implantable medical devices is required
  • Demonstrated success in translation of medical device research and concepts into product development and clinical efficiency
  • Track record of successful multi-disciplinary collaborations with researchers and key opinion leaders
  • Experience dealing with clinical considerations during technical development
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
