At Oticon Medical, our mission is simple: to bring the joy of sound to people with hearing impairments. Every day, we strive to push the boundaries of what’s possible, creating innovative and life-changing hearing solutions that help people hear the sounds that make life beautiful. We’re looking for an R&D Engineer to join our team in Askim, Sweden and help us develop cutting-edge transducer designs for bone-conduction implant systems.
As an R&D Engineer specializing in electromagnetic and piezoelectric transducers, you’ll be a key player in the development of our next-generation Bone Anchored Hearing Systems (BAHS). Working from concept to launch, you’ll design, prototype, and improve transducers that will be at the heart of our life-changing hearing implants. You’ll collaborate with a passionate and multi-disciplinary team of experts in electromagnetics, electronics, mechanics, and acoustics to create solutions that redefine sound quality, efficiency, and size.
If you’re driven by the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges while contributing to meaningful innovations, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Participate in the design of transducers for our BAHS products, from early-stage concepts to prototypes and final product launches.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to bring your designs to life.
- Testing & Verification: Plan and execute tests, analyze results, and ensure that the products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
- Innovation: Stay at the forefront of transducer technology, continuously improving designs and exploring new materials and methodologies.
- Hands-on Work: Engage in laboratory work, ensuring your designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Documentation: Produce clear and thorough documentation to support regulatory approvals and future development work.
Who You Are

- Strong collaboration skills, having worked with multi-disciplinary teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
- Excellent technical documentation skills, ideally within the MedTech industry.
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
- Minimum: B.Sc. in Electromagnetics, Physics, or Electronics (M.Sc. preferred).
Bonus Points For:
- FEM simulation and multiphysics experience.
- Experience in audio applications and piezoelectric materials.
- Proficiency with tools like Matlab and Ltspice.
