(Senior) Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

This role sits within the Procurement area of our high performing Operations organization at DGS Diagnostics.
You will independently own selected indirect spend categories, take responsibility for supplier relationships and category performance, and work closely with local and international stakeholders across business areas. Together with one dedicated colleague, you will drive measurable value, deliver documented savings, and support the development of Indirect Procurement on a global level.
This is a hands on role with real business impact, offering high autonomy and clear responsibility. It is well suited for someone who enjoys a collaborative environment and is confident in making decisions and implementing data driven strategies.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Manage assigned indirect procurement categories end to end.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Cooperate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities.
  • Drive improvements related to cost, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Support the development of procurement processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Actively contribute to building and developing the indirect procurement function within the organization.

Scope depending on experience

  • Senior level: Strategic ownership of indirect categories, building and developing procurement structures, setting standards, and driving long term improvements.
  • Regular level: Operational category management with a strong execution focus, hands on supplier coordination, and responsibility for day to day activities.

 

What we hope you bring:

 

  • Proven experience in Indirect Procurement as a Category Manager or Specialist, with the ambition to build long term supplier partnerships;
  • Strong analytical mindset and the ability to turn data into actionable strategies that deliver measurable savings;
  • Experience in building business cases, calculating savings, and presenting progress and results to leadership;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in working across different business functions;
  • Solid negotiation experience with suppliers and contracts;
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive results end to end;
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); experience in a global or matrix organization and a proactive, high drive mindset are strong advantages.
