Do you want to inspire us with your quality-oriented mindset?

At Demant, we shape the future of audiological solutions to make a real difference in the life of our hearing aid users. We bring the latest technological innovations together in the challenging and constrained form factor that is a hearing aid. Quality and attention to detail is paramount at every step of the developmental life cycle. Would you like to be part of that journey?

The role

Developing hearing aid solutions involves a complex system with many parts working in concert.

The audiological solutions group takes the initiative in hearing aid feature development, advancing novel ideas and hardware through the essential processes to bring a commercial product to fruition.

As a test engineer, you form the glue between those different steps, guiding the team to set milestones and safeguarding the quality of our deliveries.

In your new role, you will have responsibilities, some unique to your role, some shared with your team, that can include:

  • Implementing test activities in your team, inspiring them to foster good practices and a quality-oriented mindset
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining manual and automated tests for our audiological system functions
  • Understanding and anticipating the interactions between the different parts of our system to support impact analyses and test planning activities
  • Going beyond test execution by investigating, probing and debugging when things don’t go as expected
  • Informal listening and exploratory testing of our instruments to quickly catch and react on unexpected behaviors
  • Collaborating and sparring with your team also on non-test related activities, such as algorithm development, system integration, requirements writing and reviewing, etc.

Be part of a diverse team in Smørum, Denmark

Your new position is based at our Smørum, Denmark, headquarters, where you'll be part of a cross-functional and diverse team consisting of 8 developers, a Scrum Master/Team Coach, and a Product Owner working within an Agile framework.

You will work in close collaboration with other teams to design, implement, test and qualify full-stack increments of our products according to SAFe practices. Teams are working with high autonomy all the way from an idea to a product, with support from the business side to set future directions. Innovation and an ability to be creative and challenge existing constructs, is encouraged at every level in our organization.

Trust and openness

You have experience with testing digital signal processing (DSP), electroacoustics or audiological features and are comfortable with hands-on acoustical measurements. You are an enthusiastic and communicative advocate for good test practices allowing you to inspire your team towards better practices.

A background in ISTQB principles combined with experience in continuous integration platforms, including TeamCity, is beneficial.

You are comfortable with the basic programming tasks needed for test automation (mainly in Matlab, but knowledge of Python and XML syntax and parsing is a plus) and you have the bandwidth to learn new internal tools and processes. You are systematic in your approach to new problems and comfortable breaking down, learning, and navigating complex systems. Finally, you see yourself as a team player who thrives in working in close collaboration with your peers and who values trust and openness.
