Whether you are into conceptual work, hands on prototyping, detailed design, FEM simulation, engineering tools, user centered design, comfort studies or ergonomics, we have it all in-house. You get the opportunity to be part of projects that include all the above and more.” tells your new manager Nicolai Clausen and continues “And the best part is, that we improve the quality of life for millions of people worldwide every day by doing what we do best.”

In the Design & Usability Group, we are looking for a senior mechanical engineer, who thrives working with product development using cutting-edge facilities within prototyping, design facilities, reliability testing, tool manufacturing and production technologies with the goal to develop hearing instruments with a focus on hardware.

Have we caught your attention? Great, then read on!

Making a true difference on our products!
You can dig deep and spare with people, but also get the big picture. That could mean to guide mechanical developers and support the planning of the daily project activities or plan and implement design work, specifications, design reviews and documentation.

Our main production facilities in Poland are frequently visited when we do prototype builds, so you will be part of setting the scene for our final production line. We also use external suppliers and design partners all around the world. So, no mater your preferences, you will have the opportunity to do your best” tells Nicolai.

As a senior mechanical engineer, you will also contribute to the competence development of our department.

That could be:

  • Defining and adjusting internal processes with mechanical development
  • Maintain competence map and define direction for competence development
  • Ensure knowledge sharing among developers

You can expect 5-20 travel days a year, visiting suppliers and our production site in Poland.

Welcome to Team Mechanics & Ergonomics
Here you will join 11 team members, where the focus is on connecting the dots between the electronics and mechanical interface of our products.

Going home every day with a sense that you have accomplished something is very important, it makes you want to come back the next day and do even more. We aim to be transparent in what we do and what is required. We also value celebrating our accomplishments big and small. This is part of what makes Oticon a great place to work.” Tells Nicolai

Mechanics & Ergonomics is a part of our Design & Usability group. We are around 80 engineers working with development of hearing solutions within the fields of Mechanics, Electro-Acoustics, and Usability. Our responsibility for design begins from the very early technology explorations to ramping up in mass production.

We seek to deliver an intuitive and seamless user experience and interact with internal and external stakeholders across Device SW and HW. In collaboration with the Electronics group, we develop the complete Hardware Platforms consisting of both mechanical and electronic parts.

“The groups foremost focus is on mechanical part development from start to finish. We utilize every part of the engineering toolbox available and continuously seek to improve both processes and tools. We have an amazing in-house tool shop that we use for co-development of parts and tooling concepts. This is an exceptional opportunity for all engineers to get deep into the details about the design of every single part.” says Nicolai
