In Oticon we are developing some of the worlds most advanced Hearing aids and other supporting products to improve the life of people living with hearing impairments. We use Bluetooth low energy technology to allow our customers to get benefit from their hearing aids in situations involving other equipment, like during cell phone conversation or watching television.


Ensuring best-in-class end-user experience require a lot from a connectivity perspective:
•    Support for several different audio streaming standards and implementations.
•    Graceful handling of many relevant and interconnected use case scenarios
•    Seamless interoperability with the many different Android and IOS devices used by our end-users

In Oticon we take part in defining emerging standards within Bluetooth SIG, and we are at the forefront of technology being among the first in the world to implement audio streaming protocols over Bluetooth low energy.

If you are experienced in the field of Bluetooth Low Energy you will be challenged to use your knowledge and expertise to design implement and maintain state-of-the-art audio protocols over Bluetooth low energy.

Your main responsibilities in the role
•    Design, Implementation, testing and debugging new and existing features on our multi-core/multi-chip embedded Software platform.
•    Designing and implementing Bluetooth functionalities towards external devices (e.g. smartphones and own developed devices)
•    Utilizing and optimizing complex Linux-based build flows
•    Using your skills to provide the best solution when tight hardware resource constraints apply
•    Interdisciplinary cooperating with many disciplines within R&D
•    Working on feasibility projects to explore new opportunities


The sky is the limit, and it is up to you – in cooperation with a variety of organizational stakeholders – to develop world class products, which can meet customer needs in an effective way. You will have a very large degree of influence on the final product.


Software development experience

We look for future colleagues with a relevant degree at B.Sc. or M.Sc. level.


If you have professional experience from a relevant industry where you have gained a comprehensive understanding of embedded Software development and the ability to find the minimalistic design, it will be an advantage. Some of the key competencies we value is:
•    Bluetooth low energy knowledge
•    Embedded C programming
•    RTOS experience
•    Network protocol knowledge 
•    Linux development platform
•    Scripting language such as Python
•    Software design principles
•    Matlab (nice to know)
•    Experience with automated test environment


If you are a new graduate, we also value smart candidates with:
•    A relevant degree including software classes, and some demonstrated work in C (preferably in embedded systems).
•    The motivation to start a steep learning curve
•    The ability to quickly absorb new knowledge
