If micro-mechanical development, simulation on models, doing concepts and design in CAD, having state-of-the-art in-house tool shop makes your mind start wandering and think of innovative mechanical solutions, and if having fun at work makes you smile, then read on! We may just have the job for you.

In the Design & Usability Group, we are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer, who is into working with product development using cutting-edge facilities within prototyping, design facilities, reliability testing, tool manufacturing and production technologies with the goal of developing hearing instruments with a focus on hardware.

Putting your fingerprint on our products and processes!
No matter which of our mechanical teams you join, you will do micro-mechanical development; you get to do concepts and design in CAD, make prototypes in our tool shop, simulate on models, and evaluate solutions with your colleagues. And of course, get to follow your product all the way to realization and production in Poland or overseas.

You can dig deep and spare with people but also see the broader perspective. That could mean guiding mechanical developers and support the planning of the daily activities or plan and implement design work, specifications, design reviews and documentation.

As a mechanical developer, you might also play a role in enhancing the skills within our department.

That could be:

  • Defining and adjusting internal processes with mechanical development
  • Contribute to the competence for the ME domain
  • Ensure knowledge sharing among developers

You can expect 6-10 travel days a year, visiting suppliers and our production site in Poland.

The job and our reason to be
You will be joining Design & Usability, a part of R&D. where we are around 80 engineers working with the development of hearing solutions within the fields of Mechanics, Electro-Acoustics, and Usability. Our responsibility for design begins from the very early technology explorations to ramping up in mass production.

We seek to deliver an intuitive and seamless user experience and interact with internal and external stakeholders across Device SW and HW. In collaboration with the Electronics group, we develop the complete Hardware Platforms consisting of both mechanical and electronic parts.

You are a mechanical engineer with solid basic skills
You have a degree in mechanical engineering or similar.

You have some years’ experience in an R&D setup, and you have previously worked in PTC Creo 3D CAD or similar, which is our main design tool.

Besides this, you also know robust design techniques (Tolerance stack-up, Design for Manufacturing DFM, Design for Assembly DFA), and how to design parts made with injection moulding.

You may also be able to check one or more of the below:

  • Mechanical development and design within medical- or small consumer electronic devices
  • ME integration of electronics design (PCB, connectors, batteries, radios etc.)
  • GPS and 2D specifications
  • Mechanical simulation

We are in a transformation phase reorganizing into a Agile framework.
In a constant effort to optimize our efficiency, cooperation and transparency, we have decided to change our organization to follow the Agile framework of SAFe 6.0. This means that we are moving away from waterfall and project framework and transitioning into ARTs (Agile Release Trains) and self-sustaining teams that deliver products in a continuous flow.

If you are not familiar with agile working methods already, don’t worry, training in agile ways of working is offered to all by our dedicated team of internal trainers, but you should have an interest to learn to work in the agile framework.

Join our team!
Apart from working together with very motivated colleagues you will experience that we have great focus on your skills development, the department’s professional skills and in Work-life balance.

Please send your CV and motivation letter no later than 20th March. We will conduct interviews as we get the applications. If you would like to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact: Senior Manager for Mechanics & Partners, Bo Skjoldborg on bskj@demant.com or Senior Manager for Mechanics & Ergonomics, Nicolai Clausen on nicl@demant.com.
