Help us develop the future solutions for the hearing impaired
Our goal in Demant is to help people with hearing loss get the same opportunities as everyone else. Our R&D department develops both hardware and software for hearing instruments and accessory devices, and we are currently looking for a skilled embedded developer to join our hearing aid accessory software team working on chargers and TV-adapters. If you want to join a team with very versatile embedded tasks, this role is perfect for you.

About the role

As part of our team, you will be responsible for the full software stack of our solutions, including embedded applications, drivers, automated tests, development tools, and production interfaces. You will work closely with our hardware development teams in mechanics and electronics, to accomplish our common goals.

Join a team that is serious about SW best practices

In our team, you will be working alongside other software developers in embedded software and firmware. We promote a friendly and informal atmosphere within an agile setting. We prioritize good software development practices and aim to design and build maintainable solutions using object-oriented programming in C++. This approach allows us to support multiple devices while delivering high-quality results efficiently. Knowledge sharing and collaboration are key priorities, and our aim is that all team members understand our product decisions and technical solutions. Our code is not only functional but also reviewed, optimized, and automatically tested to ensure stability in our continuous integration pipeline.

Your Responsibilities

You will be involved in all stages of the development process, from initial specifications to design, architecture, implementation, and testing.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Embedded programming
  • Implementing unit tests for your code
  • Participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions with colleagues
  • Developing automated tests and investigating test hardware
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams within R&D
  • Maintaining build flows

To have the best foundation for your development journey, we suggest that you come with a degree in Software or Computer Engineering with a focus on embedded software development. It is also beneficial to have some years of relevant experience working in embedded environments and using object-oriented software best practices.
We are looking for people with the following competencies:

  • Embedded RTOS software development (ARM)
  • C++, OOP and SOLID principles
  • Unit testing (GoogleTest)
  • Python
  • Memory and power optimization
  • C#
  • Git
  • UML class and sequence diagrams
  • Electronics
  • Agile and scrum methodologies

Personal and Career Development Opportunities

We prioritize your development and when joining us you will have regular conversations with your manager about both personal and career development.  Whether you want to improve your technical skills, try out new technical areas, or take on leadership roles, we provide opportunities and support.
Application deadline: April 29. 2025. We only accept applicants who have applied for the job via our Recruitment System.
We will begin the interview process shortly after the deadline.
In case you have any questions, feel free to contact Senior Manager, RF Stack and Accessories SW, Steen Frost Tofthøj via e-mail: sttf@demant.com
We will begin to invite candidates for interviews after the application deadline. The first-round interviews are scheduled for the beginning of May. You can expect the final round of interviews to be held on the 14th and 15th of May.

We look forward to hearing from you.
