Electro Acoustic Engineer – Oticon, R&D

Would you like to make a difference five days a week? A career where you contribute to the quality of life for people worldwide. Guess what! You have found the right place!

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join R&D in our Hardware, Acoustics & Simulations department because one of our colleagues just got another internal career possibility. We offer great development opportunities and believe our R&D department is a good starting point for an exciting career.

Join the Acoustics and Simulations team

Oticon is a part of the Demant Group. Our R&D organisation embraces the whole circle of development in-house.

In the Hardware Acoustics & Simulations department, we are looking for an Electro Acoustic Engineer who would like to contribute with innovative electro acoustic development and prospect of spearheading future product development.

Our team is responsible for design and verification of the electroacoustic concepts we use in our products, and we cover simulations and transducer knowledge. We focus on delivering solutions that enable us deliver advanced hearing aid solutions, including method development in Finite Element simulations, in-depth transducer knowledge and development of new acoustic concepts for future products.

Another part of our deliveries is to generate in-depth knowledge about vibroacoustic behavior of subsystems and complete hearing aid solutions. We participate in product development as well as maturation of concepts, before they are used in product development.

Communication of results, whether in projects, in concept development or in documented knowledge is key to our growth, as is cross functional cooperation with mechanical and electronics developers in our team.

Building unique Electro Acoustic Solutions

Together with 90 skillful and enthusiastic colleagues, you will join us in improving conventional electro acoustic and mechanical solutions to improve end-user and customer satisfaction. In your new job you will be part of our Hardware Function, more specifically the Design & Usability department.

The excitement this group faces daily is the development of highly challenging platforms, due to the high degree of functionality that hearing instruments offer. Furthermore, we focus on developing our platforms to fit multiple brands, adding to the complexity.

The team works closely together with other competences i.e., audiologists and engineers specialized in amplifiers and embedded systems.

The biggest step is still to develop a platform that provides the needed acoustical gain and at the same time securing a good mechanical and acoustical feedback margin. Here a close corporation with the mechanical engineers and the pre-production team is crucial for a good result.

You can look forward to the following responsibilities:

  • Acoustic system design and development.
  • Platform calibration/settings.
  • Design specifications.
  • Selection of components i.e. transducers – microphones, receivers/speakers.
  • Testing, verifying and documenting electro-acoustical performance of HW platforms.

In this job you will have a high degree of influence and together with your colleagues you will contribute to the development of the next cutting-edge hearing instruments.

Who are you?

You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, focusing specifically on electro acoustics combined with some years of experience within Sound Quality, Acoustic measurements, vibro-acoustics, and sound path design.

Knowledge from working with electro acoustic or magnetic designs of hearing instruments or other smaller products such as cell phones, headsets or similar provides is a benefit.

You thrive in an environment with a high pace, and you are eager to start working with professional colleagues, using the skills you have acquired through your education.

As a person, you are proud of your profession, curious and a team player by heart. You have good communication skills and enjoy networking and navigating in a project oriented, cross-functional organization with several varying projects.

How to apply
