Developing hearing aid solutions involves a complex system with many parts working in concert. The audiological solutions group contributes to hearing aid feature development, advancing novel ideas and hardware through essential processes to bring commercial products to fruition. As our new Acoustic Engineer, you will have responsibilities, some specific to your role, some shared with your team. Your responsibilities will be:
- Perform and analyze acoustic measurements
- Oversee data collection and ensure effective data management through quality monitoring, metadata management, and storage solutions to maintain data integrity and accessibility
- Develop and optimize data processing pipelines to support research and development activities
- Apply advanced signal processing techniques for acoustic performance optimization, using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
- Ensure high-quality code delivery that is scalable and maintainable for integration into broader organizational workflows
- Work closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and audiologists to integrate and refine features
- Stay updated on advancements in acoustics, signal processing, and spatial sound to introduce innovative solutions
- Develop prototypes and collaborate in lab and field testing to evaluate performance in real-world environments
- Identify and resolve acoustic challenges, contributing to the continuous improvement of product designs.
Be part of a diverse team
Your new position is based at our Smørum, Denmark, headquarters, where you'll be part of a cross-functional and diverse team consisting of 16 people. The team consists of DSP Engineers, Software Developers, Test Engineers, and Clinical Audiologists all working within an Agile framework. You will report to the Senior Manager, Audiological Solutions.
Daily, you will collaborate closely with other teams to design, implement, and test our products according to SAFe practices. Our teams handle their projects from idea to product, supported by the business side to set future directions. Innovation and creativity are encouraged at every level in our organization.
Could we be looking for you?
You have experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar programming environments, with experience in data pipelines and database management. Furthermore, you have a background in acoustics, spatial sound, ambisonics, and related fields. Prior experience in the hearing aid, audio, or consumer electronics industry is beneficial.
Most likely, you have a B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Acoustics, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
You combine your experience from your education with good problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and collaboration skills to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team. If you have a good understanding of spatial sound, noise management, and feedback suppression techniques we would really like to hear from you.
You are methodical in your approach to new problems and comfortable learning about and navigating complex systems. You are genuinely interested in user interaction and have a real interest in how the end-users interact with and perceive our devices. Finally, you see yourself as a team player who thrives in working in close collaboration with your peers and who values trust and openness.
