Event Planner
Overview
The Event Planner is responsible for the planning and execution of all event-related activities of Demant Canada (Wholesale) and its subsidiary brands (Oticon, Bernafon, Sonic, Diatec, and Philips). This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week in office required.

Major Duties and Accountabilities
- Planning/execution of both physical and virtual events
- Establishing event themes, budgets, and logistics (venue, catering, etc)
- Managing event communications with all internal stakeholders (pre, post, and during)
- Event contract negotiation
- Managing registrants and supporting attendee needs
- Managing contacts with travel agencies for transportation needs
- On-the-day management - ensuring logistics are running smoothly (catering, venue, equipment) and event staff are supported
- Invoice processing
- Post-event reporting & analysis. Reviewing reports, analyzing feedback and event data to measure achievement of goals and build insights
- Relationship management with outside vendors/agencies
- Responsible for completing any other marketing-related projects that are assigned by manager such as give away sourcing, signage and branding needs
Related Experience and Skills
- 2+ years experience supporting events within a Marketing department
- Must have a solid background working large budgets and managing resources
- Ability to work with a project management software and adapt to existing processes
- Excellent grammatical, spelling, and proofreading skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill (to successfully interact with our vendors, customers, and internal staff)
- Dependability to work assigned hours to ensure full coverage (overtime is occasionally required to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position)
- Excellent organization and time management - ability to prioritize and align effort to business/strategic goals
- Dependable vehicle for travel
Problem Solving/Judgement and Decision Making
Works on assignments that are routine in nature. Most projects are moderately complex. Generally, follows established processes and procedures, however, must exercise decision-making when determining which issues to escalate to more senior employees or manager.
Supervision Received
Primary reporting relationship is to the Marketing Director. Assignments are performed under general supervision, normally receiving instructions on new assignments.
Supervision Exercised
Manage on-site staff at events/conferences/meetings and supervise members of the marketing team who are working on event deliverables
Internal and External Contact
Routinely interacts with other team members in the Marketing team, and Sales team. Contacts are intermittent with non-management and management staff in Accounting, Customer Service, and Distribution for routine assignments. Routinely interacts with vendors and customers.
