Student Assistant in Materials & Chemicals team

Material and chemical analysis is therefore a necessity in ensuring our products are of high quality.
You will be making a direct impact
We would like to offer you an opportunity to work in Product Quality and our Materials and Chemicals (M&C) Team as a student assistant. We are team that is partly located in Denmark and partly in Poland. In this role you will contribute significantly to maintain our high-quality standards for the future generations of Hearing Aids and Accessories and by doing so you will make a drastic difference to the life of those with a hearing loss.
As part of the M&C Team you will work closely with Product Quality to test products at different stages of development. This will give your insight into many different materials, especially alloys and some types of polymer chemistry (plastics, glues, lacquers etc.) and experience with product development and testing. Furthermore, you will gain knowledge of chemical legislation and compliance and get experience with safety data sheets and chemical workplace legislation.
Possible tasks you will have:
- Analysis of materials and their composition using X-Ray Fluorescence and IR techniques
- Carry out chemical reliability tests by exposing samples to chemicals and conditions
- Writing documentation of performed analyses and tests
- Mixing of test chemicals and other laboratory-based tasks
- Maintenance of chemical lists, SDS archives and chemical labeling as well as creation of safety data sheets
- Various practical tasks such as ordering supplies and archiving samples
- Various ad hoc tasks
The position is located at Demant global headquarter in Smørum – close to the S-train station in Kildedal - with start date preferable in June/July 2025. We will offer a flexible and friendly work environment that accommodates your study.
The ideal candidate:
- You’re in your 2nd or 3rd year of your studies
- Your study is within chemistry, material science or a similar discipline
- Speak and write Danish and English fluently
- Can work 8 hours per week at our headquarter in Smørum
- Have a can-do attitude with a high degree of personal efficiency
- Curious and willing to learn
- You are a structured, thorough and detail-oriented person
We expect you to be able to plan and organize your own tasks, but we will be right by your side to help you develop new skills and gain new insights.
